Triumph is actively working on their new 250cc 1-cylinder designs.  The rumor mill has indicated both a naked and a faired option.  The most recent shots from Spain show a faired Daytona-style single in the works.  See the grainy shot at: Visordown.  Better focused shot at RideApart.

It's hard to fathom, but with the import tariffs, it looks like a Tiger 800XC will cost the equivalent of $34,000 USD!  With the new 250cc model being produced in India, it will be able to bypass the huge tariffs and be much more competitive in that market.

More small bike options is definitely a good thing.  Her Ninja being a twin is incredibly smooth for a 250 and easy to ride on the street.  I wanted the 300 to get the F.I., but it was taller and the seat was wider and she fit the 250 better.
