Darklight ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0395512/ )

Dear god... I have not seen too many movies legitimately worse than this. Not even being full of totally recognizable names. Dear god.

You have obviously not yet seen 1977's "The Island of Dr. Moreau" with Burt Lancaster, Michael York, and Barbara Carrera. They managed to take outstanding source material - what I believe to be H.G. Well's best, darkest, creepiest novel - and turn it into a steaming pile of c***! Even considering 1977 special effects technology, there was no reason for this to be so poorly re-imagined!

Godzilla 2014 - saw it in IMAX 3D last night.

Needed less face time and more Godzilla time.  3 out of 5 stars.

But it was better than the remake with Marlon Brando.

Wouldn't take much to be better than that steaming pile of crap.

Ya. Quit watching after #2. Seriously, who wants to watch a 67 y.o. without a shirt?

Jersey Boys

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I haven't seen the Broadway show nor did I know any of the backstory heading into the theater. I fell hard for John Lloyd Young's voice as Frankie Valli and Erich Bergen's "aw shucks/savvy" Bob Gaudio is very endearing. I like the interplay of singing and scenes. I've read reviews that didn't...not quite sure I get that. If you like the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, escape the summer heat for 2.5 hours and check it out.
I used to make a bigger impression.

Just finished watching The Pawnbroker starring Rod Steiger, 1964. Very good. Excellent photography.

Gambit: Funny. We all liked it. Diaz' "gosh dangit" interpretation of Texans gets a little old, but it's Hollywood's impression of TX and England, so there's no surprise there.
