While I am very happy for Neal, I am also saddened by the potential for serious change at Sport-Touring.Net without the skipper at the helm. Shortly after I received the news of the sale I registered this domain and I should have things up and running in a few days.

Yay, no need for me to have to run the "alternate forum".

Definitely tighten up the registration requirements before the spammers find this, though.

That's on the list. I don't think I am doing to bad for three hours worth of work.

I'm hoping this place won't really be needed, but if the new owners do like I've seen others do and they make too many changes because they can - then this place will be ready like the "old days."

Yup, I fear it too.

Another thing that should be done now before it's too late, and bots start crawling: set the site up as https only. Always been worried about cookies and sniffers.

If the rumblings of the "Audio Ad" thread are any indication of the direction.net is going, this site will be a welcome haven. I am concerned that our new fancy STN Admin hasn't poked his head into the site (or at least commented) all weekend. Doesn't bode well...

As it is, I'll stick with .net for a while. I'm not ready to give up on it yet.

"Dwayn" is also the name of the motorcycle.com admin on the recently-sold GL1800riders forum; he's just as much a non-presence there.

EDIT: I added the [ hmtl ] and [ /html ] code so the video would appear. Still tweaking the settings, but right now I cannot find a way to allow HTML code from regular members.
