For all the time I’ve spent in WV, I’ve never seen, heard of or tried a Bao Bun. Wasn’t on the menu at the Lost River Grill.

The one that really baffled me was Belgium Fries in Missouri. I know what they are. Fastest way to start an argument in any Flemish pub is ask whether the potatoes should be washed. Good for at least an hour of entertaining conversation. As many times as I have ordered Fries here in the Staes the preparation was botched, but at least some waitstaff know enough to warn you first that they are not what you expect. But how and why did they become popular in Missouri.

Plenty of good reasons right there for a road trip.

I lived in North Dakota for about 30 years and I don't understand how gyros ranked so high in the state. I've been to the Greek restaurant, it's in Fargo. I doubt that they deliver outside of the southern Red River Valley. But take-out pizza is everywhere.

Bubble Tea's pretty good, goes well with spicy Thai or Pho. Actually I'm a bit surprised Thai was most ordered in Washington, I would have thought Teriyaki was more popular.
