I crossed Nevada for the first time this past Sept.

170 miles between gas stations. I went down the extraterrestrial highway. Nobody passed me on coming for 45 minutes. Trust me. Nobody lives there.

Truth. I had similar experiences in parts of Texas and the Oklahoma panhandle. There's some big, empty country out thataway. Pulled in to a number of towns looking for gas to find the entire town just gone and closed. Finally found gas hours later, and pumped 5.97 gallons into my 6-gallon tank. Carried plenty extra after that.

only 170 miles? You were in the center of the metropolis. I ran 11 gallons of fuel on my Wing because one place was about 250 miles between gas.

Are the arrows at that teepee camping place (NM or OK iirc).

I've been perusing my pictures file and came across this pic I took at a vineyard in Amador County, Cali. My wife liked it enough that we have it framed. Then two sis-in-laws liked it so they have these in their homes.

The difference between me and a professional is that the professional takes 1000 pics and can use 998 of them but I take 1000 pics and can use two of them:

When I went by a few months ago, I was disappointed at all the tagging. You can't see the actual sign anymore.
