I have tomorrow off and am going riding. I thought there was a MI photo tag thread here, i cant find it. Is there one or do i need to start one?

You need to start one. There is one at the other place, but I don't know if it is active at all.

Standard rules apply:

* YOUR BIKE MUST BE IN THE PHOTO. Attempt to reproduce the original tag photo is not acceptable. Obviously.
* NO FILE PHOTOS. You are not allowed to use existing photos from previous rides/trips either to get the current tag or to place a new tag
* NO TRAILERS, TRUCKS, ETC. You must ride your bike to the tag (yes, it's been done before, hence the rule)
* The first person to POST a photo of their bike at the tag location, gets to pick the next tag location. It's not who gets to the tag first, it's who POSTS THE PHOTO FIRST. Might be wise to learn how to post photos from your cell phone while on the road...
* You may take a photo of a new tag on your way to (hopefully) getting the current tag (same day), but other than that exception, use of any photo taken prior to getting the current tag is forbidden
* TRY TO PICK INTERESTING TAG LOCATIONS. Pick spots that are fun to get to, have some historical interest, weird/zany, whatever, but consider what clues will be needed to find it. If you make it too obscure, the game stalls. Better to keep the tag moving than having people searching for a tree in the forest
* TAGS MUST BE IN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN. Indiana and Ohio are close but not close enough. At this point I see no reason for it not to be in the UP as well, but be aware that by moving the tag to the UP you may be significantly slowing the game down.
* The new tag must be posted within 24 hours of grabbing the old one. After 24 hours the previous tag is up for grabs again
* RIDE!

Beautiful day for a ride today. Stopped at this place i saw on Under the Radar Michigan. Brisket and mac and cheese were great! If you plan on eating there, they have short hours. 11-2 during the week and 11-6 on saturday's.

So after a short ride, when you get here walk around a bit. The other side of the bridge is a cavalry armory, the cabin where a great book was written. Great place to take a stretch.

i know the pics are small, it isnt that far from Durand and the mini water thing.....by the way, the Durandians didnt know where that thing was....asked at a couple of gas stations. Not a clue from the locals. bumped into a guy while he was filling up his truck, pointed in the perfect direction. Maus saw it when we were close.

I recognized the castle right away. My bike is packed for a weeklong trip to Iowa and it's sitting until then. Wife is gone on a roadtrip for work and it's dogsitting for me.

Like Tom, i recocnized it right away. The banner on the side says where it is so i dont think a hint is needed. Just more time. I think you are right, its just the three of us tagging. Unfortunately, i wont be able to grab it for at least another week.

If I had my small lightweight enduro plated, I'd consider tagging it, but not with the BMW 1200 light truck (still in recovery mode from a prostatectomy, will hopefully be back in the saddle in 2 weeks)...

See the posted tag in Lansing? Go for it! I've been lazy this summer enjoying my time off. Honestly, I haven't been on the ST for over a month now. The only riding I've done this month was to deliver the Ducati to it's new owner.

What happened with the Sprint? I missed it?

The new Corbin is broken in now. I managed 275 miles on 3/4 of a tank of gas with the ST this trip. Them back roads are easy on the distance.

Sprint is fine, I just havent replaced the rear tire after the tripple flat coming home from the Marietta ride. With the expense of the fall meet coming up and how late in the season it is, I'll probably wait till spring to get another one.

I hear ya on that. You've got a bike to ride and trips to take. The KLX is lighter and more nimble for the trips you currently have planned.

We cancelled our September Florida travel plans due to hurricanes incoming and passed. I was going to leave on the 4th, just in time to take in Florence's heavy rains all along my route south. A last minute call, but you take what mother nature gives and work around it. I snagged a slot in a LD rally the weekend of the 22nd and will play that way instead. Got another one set up for mid-October too. At $20 for a fun 12 hour day of scavenger hunting, it's a steal of a deal and good reason to ride.
