Drove down to spend the weekend with my oldest son in his new house. He bought a nice place east of Phoenix that's exactly 400 miles from my driveway. It was interesting to hang out in a state where silly rules and laws are practically non-existent. CC is OK without a permit, fireworks are not illegal, no tagging along highway, everything nice and clean and orderly, street signs and billboards in English, very little traffic during peak times (compared to Kalifornia) and generally friendly people.
Anyway we had a great time swimming in the pool, shooting off fireworks (big mortar types) and ripping around town in the M3, drinking beer etc (not all in that order). The evenings skies were filled with thuinderstorms and cool showers which left us with 90 degree humid mornings in the pool drinking coffee. It was a good time but eventually we had to come home to the land of 10,000 laws.
Oh and the "other news" is that I found out I am going to be a Grandpa for the first time around Jan 2015. Woot!!
