Over on another forum (guitars), there was a post about the new Electric Harley. Interesting ideas of course but it got into Loud Pipes with all the arguments (there are all sorts of bike riders on the forum from Goldwing to Sportbikes to Harleys ). Of course I chimed in with my own worthless opinion and observations.

Then someone started a second thread showing the pictures from a show he went to (I linked to them in the actual Electric Harley thread).

Someone else commented that the Electric Harley accelerates faster than Sportbikes which is likely true being electric. But a few weeks ago during the Goldwing trip thread, one of the Harley riders commented that he'd "race me to Chicago any time". When I noted that I have 130,000 miles on my Hayabusa he backed off a touch   But I used the same line with the Electrics. "Sure, they're fast. But in the words of the Harley rider, 'I'll race you to Chicago'"

The best part though was a third thread. "I unfriended someone on Facebook (Harley Content)". I was taken a little aback when the guy said he unfriended his long time buddy because his buddy rides a BMW and constantly rags on him for riding a Harley "slow, leaking oil, unreliable" and hated him being so snobbish

Our lead guitarist and I trade jabs over Fender and Gibson quite often. He's backed off some since he has not guitar now other than the one me and the other guys chipped in to buy him.

Fuckin' guitar players.

 One of my best friends, and a very talented musician (he plays pretty much everything-well) has a Dyna. I give him shit about it all the time, but it's good-natured ribbing. He understands that. He'd have a sporting bike if he could handle the riding position, but physical issues demand he rides a cruiser if at all. It's pretty funny to see the look on the other cruiser riders faces when he passes them though. Last time we rode he got kinda pissed at the guy on the GSXR600 who was holding him up in the twisties.

Maybe we should start a guitar argument thread and you can link to it over there.
