You don't buy beer you rent it.

And speaking of that I'm off to the local watering hole.

I'll have a fresh sixer in about a week.

Rode it a few days ago. Not today probably, as it's snowing.

It's in the garage with the tins removed, waiting for a new horn, new radiator hose clips, and a new GPS power harness.

Drew a smiley face in the sawdust on the seat.
Feels like I've been here before, fuzzy then but still so obscure........

I actually rode my bike today!  Granted, just to do an errand and get some lunch, but at least it was something.  First ride since October.

Damn these BMW spoke wheels are heavy!  I can't believe how much weight I need to balance them.  Notice the weights on the wheel put on by the dealer from the previous tire change.  I only had 7 oz weights around and used up nearly all of them to get this one rear to balance.  Note that this is my first tire change with this bike.  I purchased it used.

The previous rubber had some serious flat spots and my recent roadside tire patch was losing 10-15 lbs per week in air.  It was time for a change.

Man do I love a SSSA.  :inlove:  No drama when removing the wheel.

See the previous weights put on at the last tire change?  They're 20 oz each!

Here's the most of my 7 oz weights being used today in order to get a static balance  :(

Have you ever thought of balancing the wheel first? They're cast and then machined. Most modern tires require very little balancing if the wheel is balanced.

I've never tried that.  What I find interesting is I kept the previous weights on the wheel to see if it would be balanced before doing anything else.  It wasn't.  So, I scraped off the old weights and added (a lot) of my own.

After second thought, it would be an extra step to remove the wheel off the tire changer to balance it.  I always save the balancing step for near last (before I set the bead).

So what you're saying is you're lazy. Balance the wheel once. You do realize that most tire manufacturers put a balance dot on the tire.
