Like I said, I paid for it. That's all. These pics were taken in the back of the dealership.

I brought all the necessary paperwork to my insurance company to transfer the plates from the Sportster, will hit the registry Monday AM and my buddy Paul (owner of Carl's Oxford Diner, birthplace of cholesterol) is giving me a ride back up to NH on Tuesday then I'll ride it home.

I'll get some nicer pics then.

So the Virginian kindly sent me the stock winkers from the Yamaha and they preceded to sit in our garage for over a year.

We finally got around to testing them out on the Suzuki and the Givi Rack interfered with installation of the rears. So back they went to the Virginian.

I ordered a universal set from Amazon and they fit much better and are actually visible as opposed to the cheap low profile turn signals the PO put on. Inexpensive too!

I had a set of pilot road 4 gt's installed today. Got the gts for the same price as the regular so I figured why not go with the heavier one on the big Versys. Now I'll have to force myself onto some twisty roads to scuff them in. Its terrible having to go to Ohio and do that.The things I suffer thru.😄

Rode it 221 miles w/o issue after an engine swap. First long ride and I trust it now. New engine runs 6-10*F cooler,gets 4 more MPG and shifts better than the one it replaced. And I had no problems with that one until it broke at 140K miles. Seems like I made out well.

Filled it with non-ethanol gas and went for a ride.
I'm always amazed how much better it runs with pure gas.

Gas with ethanol has fewer btu per gallon ,thus less mileage.They use it to meet oxygenation requirements and to up the antiknock index. Also to meet the requirements for the payoff from the corn lobby.😉

The shed expansion project is scheduled for this month and some of next. It was to be for the VW but Dimitri won't be keeping it here so the URAL gets it.

The Bonneville is sold and my son has the little KZ.

The VW is gone too. I recently had 7 registered vehicles. Something had to change.

The Audace and the Ural are what stayed.

I rode home in the rain from Cave Junction Oregon on Sunday. If I'm recollecting when things got weird, I'd say this happened at least 20 miles from home.

Apparently Airheads won't idle without the battery, because it didn't stall until I came to a 4 way stop 1/2 mile from home. I walked home in the rain with my helmet on and carrying the tankbag. I came back in the truck a few minutes later with dry shoes on to recover the luggage and got my kids, their friends, and my roommate to help load the bike into the truck the next day.

I should have it fixed this afternoon.

I replaced the rear brake pads on the Tiger. EBC HH, seems to have better grip than the OEM pads.

The new Ninjette had her 600 mile check-up this morning, and everything is good to go. I did have to readjust the clutch after they adjusted it, however (it had been perfect out of the box). Afterwards, I rode around randomly and now have about 680 miles on her. Just 320 to go to the end of the training period and I can introduce her to what her life will really be like.

I'm not actually superstitious, but I noted that as we passed mile 666 there were no incidents. But then again, I've also never had anything bad happen to me on Friday the 13th or a full moon.

Found out I need a new battery for my F800ST.
Because I have multiple vehicles (and I'm old), I keep meticulous track of their maintenance.
It's been a month since I charged the F800 batt, so I went to do it.
I've got a BMW charger for it, that uses the powerlet socket. The process is to turn on the ignition for a bit, to energize the socket (for 10-15 mins). I heard the fuel pump kick in, and then kinda slowly went quiet - WTF? The guages were blank - WTF #2. No lights on.. WTF # 3!!
I turned the ignition off and accessed the battery.
4.6V... Just a month after being fully charged... Wow...
When I bought the bike just about a year ago, I was told the battery was new in spring of '18.
The bike was for sale because the previous owner wasn't riding it (much) after hurting his back in a pedal biking incident. I assume that's why he got the new battery and the charger.
But I'm concerned that there's a parsitic draw on the battery.
I've heard good things about batterysharks.com, and see that they are now an Amazon vendor.

Started the wake up process on the Trophy. Seat's off, battery went on the Optimate charger for 48 hours and is fully refreshed. Tank's been drained, carb bowls too. Next step is fresh premium gas and a splash of Seafoam, run some fresh stuff thru the bowls to flush them.

Hit the magic button and see if it likes the attention.

It's got a heartbeat! Irregular and thready, but it runs. I'll dose it heavy with Seafoam, get it re-started and soak the carb internals with the mix for a few days. That should help immensely. Really don't want to pull the carb bank, its a 3 hour job to get them out.

Well, they weren't that bad.

A three hour soak and it's firing up and idling smooth. Now to start the full inspection and fix a few things I've already noticed. Rear brake light is not working. Unknown cause at the moment. Lever switches need lubrication and adjustment. Needs an oil change desperately because stuff in the sump is 7 years old. I think I still have an oil filter here for it. Some Amsoil 20w50 will be the go to fluid this time.

I found a bin of stuff we've been holding on to foreverish. In it was a license plate mounted supplemental brake light. While I'm not a fan of cutting into stock wiring, this was a nice bright LED so it seemed worth it. While metering the hot and ground, I accidentally blew the fuse. Doh. I had spares and overall it was an easy job. Glad to have the added safety.

Added 1/2 quart oil Friday. Not bad for 2000 miles since the last change on a 45 year old Airhead. Then yesterday I rode it 200 miles, including the full length of Hwy 96, to spend a week somewhere they don't turn the frickin' power off.

This week will be with my sweetie at her house. She's a big fan of the pillion experience.

Metro Milwaukee is expecting temps about 5 to 10 F below average over the next 10 days. There's potentially a lot of riding time left--snow didn't become durable until Christmas Day last year. But ice free days are clearly numbered.

So I filled the Ninjette's tank and added SeaFoam, filled my 5 gal. gas can and added SeaFoam, and when we next ride the stabilized gas will work its way through her engine and injectors. After that, I'll just top off from my gas can at home.

A full winterization is just around the corner.
