After two days of a cool rain and clouds today was sunny and warmer. Good day to ride so i figured I'd run some errands. Had to pay the Cabelas CC, Home equity payment, and out to Decalb to pick up parts for the dirt bike.
On the way to Cabelas i was at a light behind a mini van and when the light changed we took off. I had just shifted into 2ed when the guy in front of the mini van locked the brakes up and decided to make a left into a gas station. I saw him stop and i grabbed all the brake i could and hit him at about 10mph.
I bounced back and lost my balance and tipped over on the left side. When the guy got out he was very nice and helped me pick up the bike and we got into the gas station.
The only damage to his bumper was marks from the tire. Actually he rubbed some of it off. I forgot to mention that it was a taxi van. Since there wasn't damage he didn't want to make a police report (I figured he didn't want to deal with the taxi company) which was fine with me. By that time the police and fire was getting there. (someone must of called it in)
The police just gave us a report number and sent us on our way.
The only damage to the bike was a bent mount for the clutch lever, scratched stator cover, turn signal, bar end, and the passenger foot peg. Thank goodness the forks didn't get bent.
It did sake me up and i was having trouble thinking about what happened while riding. I did find that i wasn't riding as aggressive as i would of been.
Well I'll see what i feel like in the morning.
