We're rolling out a week from today. Who is attending this thing? It's difficult to sort through the main thread on the national to determine who's in and who's out.

Sheri and I are in.

I'm angry and depressed (seriously) to announce Jamie and I will NOT make it to Maggie Valley. My mother, who was going to watch the kids for us, suffered a ruptured appendix and is unable to watch them—and we have zero other options.

To say I'm shattered is an understatement. I've been looking forward to this for MONTHS.

Oh well. Bad run of luck with STO meets. But I was happy to see the announcement of ESTO in Ohio—and I'll put that on the calendar! (Hope springs eternal, right?)

Perhaps those of you (if any) with little kids can empathize. It's not easy sometimes.

She's doing well, recovering on thermonuclear antibiotics, LOL. (She gets the appendix taken out in August.) I know we couldn't help it...but I'm still shattered over not being able to make it down. Oh well, I'll definitely put Marietta on the calendar!

This is rather sad for the national. There are more people going to clays bbq in flat land MI than there are coming to this. (Not that there is anything wrong with clays). We should change the name of this place to sport-eating.org. i seems to be all about the food now.

This will be Sheri's first meet and I'm a little bummed she won't get to experience a parking lot full of bikes in the evening. But, the folks attending are great people and I look forward to see you all again.

I'm not sure what's up with people this year. The spring meet had a good turn out, the Eastern meet in OH appears to be shaping up quite nicely. And, as mentioned, Clay's BBQ is looking like it'll be a good turn out.

I don't understand why this wouldn't attract more people. It's an excellent location with access to some of the best roads east of the Mississippi.

Mid-week meets require lots of vacation time. Long weekend regional meets fit people's lives a lot better.

In my case, I'll be mountain biking in Ellicottville, NY, instead of attending the meet.

The other Canadians are doing well, but have changed their focus to dual sport.

Don't worry because you will very likely have me as your token Canadian in Marrietta!

The Ural will be packed up this evening and we'll head out first thing tomorrow morning.

I've already filled my flask by emptying the Four Roses Small Batch I purchased during my weekend trip to the Beach earlier this year. That'll make my 4th empty fifth of wiskey this year.

I have a drinking problem. My problem is I'm running out of drink.

I have a different sort of drinking problem. Looking at what probably was the last good cappuccino I'll have for awhile.

I can't find a coffee shop that will add a decent shot of liquor - or should that be a shot of decent liquor - for me.

I did.
I was trying to pack as light as possible, but because of today i had to pack cool weather gear.
Doubled my mileage for the year today. Have had squat for riding this year, 400 miles. Did 300 slab and 200 twisties. I am truly impressed with the pilot road 4. On the sprint, i think it is the best handling tire i have had on it.
Ended up in huntington wv for the night. Pleasantly surprised, what a cool little town. Had a nice maibock at a tap room and a good dinner with a couple southern tier 2x ipa at a local sports bar.
Heading back to the hotel for a good nights rest, then.........kentucky tomorrow!

Scott &. I made it to Beckley. Inn for the night. I logged 538 miles for the day. Rode down to the old bridge under the New Bridge.

The stock tires on the Connie are the worst.
