Okay, I've converted a 14 inch car rim into a very effective tire changing machine.  I just need an effective mount/demount lever.  The ones I've seen for sale are very expensive.  Does anyone know how to DIY mount/demount lever?

Agreed; I won't even consider a new tire machine without including this. There's "cheap" and there's "spending the right money."

BTW, you can get inexpensive wheel weights at Harbor Freight.  And their spin balancer is quite effective too.

It makes tire changes such a snap that *I* can do it! 

Very similar to my setup. You use a cheap garden hose on the edge of the rim for obvious reasons.
