Back to Back Milestones

Leisa and I got out for a short ride on Memorial Day..  and made it even memorable with a few back to back milestones..

This July 7th will be 7 years since we bought the Concours14.. It has been the best bike I've ever owned. Besides consuming a mountain of tires, oil and gasoline, it has been very reliable and dependable.

Thanks to all of you that have shared many miles alongside on trips and journeys, we made it to the first 100,000 miles..  ;D

The Bittersweet part of all this is, it appears the bike has worn me out instead of the other way around...  I'm heading for my 4th lumbar spine surgery later this month, and will be on the sidelines for most of, if not all the rest of the season.

Hopefully I will be get well enough to put another 100 thousand on her, but if not.. the last 100K was a great ride and I have great memories of it all...

Have a great time at Nationals and I'll hope to ride with you all again in the fall if all goes well..

I guess this is my only chance to close the 50,000 miles difference between our bikes.

Congrats on the 100K! I hope you heal quickly so you can finish breaking in the Connie. I should hit 80K on the Wee in PA in a couple weeks. Big hug to ya Jerry!

Now that said, quit this sentimental shit.  Get in, get out of surgery, and do what the doctors tell you to do afterwards.  And lets get you back on the Connie whether it be late this season or next season for sure.  Wait... season?  I forgot, you never put your bike away!

Seriously bro, thank you for the 10s of thousands of miles we've ridden together.  I do pray for a speedy and healthy recovery for you.  I will ride NC80 down and back and when I look down at my GPS I will see your smiling face.

...for those of you that don't know, that is what he said to me after he and John passed a car coming back from the Spring meet but I chickened out.

The C14 is an awesome bike, 54,000mi. on mine and it feels like it's still breaking in, running stronger than ever.

When your able to ride (late summer :) ) lets get all the C14's together for a ride. I think there are eight in region six alone, maybe ten on this site?

Oh, and thanks for the info on the steering head bearings.  :thumbsup:
