I just built a new deck and a pergola. The deck is treated lumber and the pergola is Cedar.
Looking for advice on staining /sealing the wood. The environment here is very hot/sun intensive summers and mild winters.  Not a lot of rain. I anticipate wanting to stain the treated close to the color of the cedar.  And ensure the cedar is well protected.

Any suggestions?

Go with a semitransparent water based synthetic stain/sealant from Behr or Thompsons.  Two coats.

I like the thompsons but their UV rating is pretty low on the reviews. I need sun protection more  than moisture here in South Texas.

Thompsons sucks.
