I’m not a big TV watcher. There are a handful of shows I set the DVR to record through the week and I do my best to catch up with them on the weekend. During the summer, there’s very little TV I watch. That said, when I watch TV, quality is important to me. And, I have a preference for science fiction and comedy.
Lately, I’ve heard a lot about the show Orphan Black. And, because I tend to watch a lot of BBC America, I’ve seen a lot of ads for it. Well, I broke down and downloaded the first episode of the first season via iTunes to see what it was all about. Holy crap!
This is an excellent show (so far). I’ve watched enough of the first season to be up to speed so I started watching the second season, which started mid April. Not only does it have good characters, excellent writing, high quality production, the acting of the lead character(s) will blow your mind! In a nut shell, it’s about a group of clones which have found one another and tend to work together (for the most part) to protect themselves. The clones are played by the same actress. Her acting is the best acting I’ve ever seen in a TV series. Hands down.
There are few shows which have caught my attention that I couldn’t quit watching: Battlestar Gallactica; Firefly; and the first season of Heros for example. My wife reads way more books than she spends time watching TV. As I was gone this past weekend on the Spring Meet trip, she watched all episodes of the first season. After she watched the first, she couldn't stop. She’s become addicted to it.
Has anyone else become a fan of show?
