Tomorrow I'm going to leave from San Diego to drive to Key West.  I checked on Google maps, and it said: I-8 east 2,600 miles.  Turn right on US-1.  200 miles later, arrive in Key West.  Yeah- almost 3,000 miles and ONE FREAKING TURN. 

Yay.

I didn't believe it and had to look it up.  That's pretty cool.

But you have to be careful. Fuel stops are far apart in that area. In fact there are warning signs. For instance; Ft. Stockton to Ozona is a little over 100 miles. There are only 2 gas stations between them. And they are very iffy whether they'll be open when you need them.
