A KTM 690 Enduro R can get you there today (with all the adv luggage and whatnot) and you'll have a decent dealer network available. The biggest limitation of the 690 is the small-ish 3.2 gallon tank. Aftermarket tanks are $$$$$. But you can buy a Kolpin 1.5 gallon aux tank for under $100 (with bracket) if you really need more range.I'm on the fence as to whether I want a lightweight ADV bike like the 690 (and use it for trail riding) or a big ADV bike like a 1190 Adventure (and use that for all my street riding). That CCM looks pretty nice. Biggest concern would be dealer support...
The GP450 is powered by a version of BMW’s discontinued G450X. The Fuel injected DOHC 450cc single produces 40 hp compared to the original 52 hp of the G450X, allowing the GP450 to have longer service intervals. CCM offers a kit to unleash the full horsepower of the G450X motor, however doing so will void the engine’s warranty.
According to the article the engine for this bike is BMW sourced. QuoteThe GP450 is powered by a version of BMW’s discontinued G450X.http://www.advpulse.com/adv-bikes/m1nsk-trx-300i-ready-for-a-250cc-adventure-bike/My bad. Past CCMs have used Japanese injins.
