 My top box fell off on the way to work this morning.

 280 North

I've been behind riders and watched there side cases go sliding into ditch.

On one trip a friend lost his side case with his wallet in it. His trip was over. The next day he got a call from a road worker that found it.


I have come close to loosing one but caught it in time.

That's sad. Hope it gets returned intact. Did you have ID or a phone number in it? I have heard it is a good idea to attach a return phone number to the bottom so if you ride around with it locked people won't break into it trying to find the owner.

I have word of a sighting this morning on 280 North.

"Yep yep I saw it. Between #2 and #3 lane. on 280 Like 6:20 no. of los altos hills"

Latest information says about a quarter mile South of Sand Hill road on 280 North on the right side of the road.

After snapping my removable luggage in place I ALWAYS give it a grab and a hard shake.  I lost my top case with my tablet and a few other things in it on base one time going though a dip.  Lucky me it was at low speed and I heard it fall off.  It wobbled down the road like an egg spilling all of my stuff out of it on the road.  No one ran over my stuff so I got lucky there as that would have been about 400 dollars worth of tablet and keyboard.
