Exhaust cut-outs.  They've been common on Muscle Cars forever.  E-Cut outs are all over the place.  Flick a switch or wire in a pressure switch activated by throttle and the cutout(s) open automatically.  Hell lots of Aston Martins and even the BOSS 302 Mustang (new one) come from the factory with E-Cutouts.
