OK.

I have a very important question. What are some of the best methods for taking a decent portion of your booze with you on 2 wheeled road trips?

For example, you’re going to do a long weekend trip and want to take enough of your favorite whiskey with you but don’t want to carry the entire fifth or glass at all. Perhaps you want to bring enough to share with friends.

I know there are flasks. They’re about 8 oz. I could always get more than one if 8 oz won’t be enough for the trip. But, it’s been years since I sampled booze from a stainless steel flask. Does it alter the taste and make it metallic? Is there another way which works for you?

For last year's WCRM, I just threw a fifth of Buffalo (OH!) Trace in with my clothes in a sidebag. Sure, it might have broken if I went down, but that wouldn't have been my biggest problem if I crashed that hard.

If you don't want to do that, though...

I too have usually just transport the entire fifth glass bottle myself. Four Roses Small Batch is super easy. Other, more normal bottles are pretty easy. But, not all fifths are created equal.

Use a stainless steel water bottle (cleaning with vinegar or not). That metallic taste (which I've never noticed over use of several such bottles, as my kids lose them) should have no impact on some fine bourbon or other brown liquor.

You can also carry enough that way.

AS noted above, make sure they are packed in a sidecase or topcase, and not a tankbag; if it is accessible to the driver (rider), because it is not sealed in the bottle in which the booze was sold, it is considered carrying open alcohol and a violation of the law (in Illinois it's an 11-502, open liquor).

I use the Stanley 8oz wide mouth flask. Works well for overnighters or maybe weekends. When I go camping with buddies they bring Crown Royal usually and I pack a 750ml of Jack Daniels. But if it's just me I just take the flask. I've been meaning to buy a second one to pack for longer trips. They don't cost that much. And the wide mouth makes them super easy to fill.

Normally I would just seal it up in a freezer bag and pack it amongst my t-shirts. I don't think I'd try that with the thin neck on the Willett bottle.

This looks like a good option. $10 and you're done.

Spoil yourself. I have a couple of these for beer transport from breweries to home (and iced drink transport occasionally). Awesome in a way I've never had. Hydroflask rules. Double wall stainless, vacuum separated. Keeps iced drinks iced for 12 hrs (from personal experience). Not exactly a small flask, but it might even survive a crash. Slightly spendy, but I've been sold on them.

I've gone with just packing it into my clothing stuff and it's done just fine that way. That includes hammering out on some GS grade OHV roads.

Those Hydroflasks are pretty cool. Unfortunately, Minnesota liquor laws state breweries can only fill their own branded growlers. I've seen at least one steel canteen from a brewery and it was the Kleen Kanteen brand. I'll be swithcing my glass growler over to the steel version or Hyrdo flask version the next time I ride the 2.5 hours up to the brewery in Duluth where Aerostich is.
