Still without a permanent job but still mainly in temporary work (thankfully), I hope that a bit of insurance money will be coming my way in a month or two. Hey., someone might even be stupid enough to employ me.

I'll have to buy a new kitchen (or I'm dead). I'll have to pay off the overdraft and credit card debts. But, this could still leave me with enpugh to buy a bike in the £3000 to £5000 range....bikes are more expensive over here BTW

As you may guess from the list above, I do like a nice, good looking, muscular machine. Help me fantasy shop.

I get a bit tired of doing it by myself, going through the MCN and Ebay ads.

If I can only have the one bike, sadly I can't have a bit of old Brit or Italian iron as well-it's got to be reliable and suitable for touring and commuting. Mainly commuting. Screaming acceleration isn't needed but the ability to piss on a Porsche Carrera is. I prefer naked bikes for looks but do understand the practicality of faired ones.

I voted Griso 12 but you can't go wrong w/ either of those trumpets. I've owned a 955i S3 & a T-Bird Sport. I want another T-Bird Sport!

I don't regret selling my Thunderbird 900 - the crankcase breather tube issue was pissing me off.

The Speed Triple and Griso are my two favorite bikes. If you like wheelies, go with the Speedie. Otherwise, the Griso seems more practical to own.

My guess is you want the one you listed first...gorgeous bike. But you should simply buy the best bike you can find for the cash. Good luck with the insurance money and may I suggest a very bright colored bike that will be less likely to be mistaken for a parking bumper.
