Work? WTF?
« on: March 22, 2014, 06:53:20 PM »
I got a job at the local cycle shop part time starting in a week.   :o   This education and graduation thing actually works!  I'm part time until May 1, then go on the books as a full time employee.   :wings:   I'm gonna have riding funds, but no time to use them again.

I've mentioned their name here and over there many times.  And, no, they/I do not spam anyone.

 :wow:

I'm promoted on my first day.  Seems one of the techs gave notice on Saturday.  I'm soon to be a flat rate tech.  Waiting on my State license to start.

I disagree, not working isn't so bad, it's the not getting paid that sucks.

And I came home to more good news.  My mechanic's license testing results were back and I'm licensed as soon as I pay the $25 which will happen today during the break in morning classes.  SecState is just a mile from school.

Tools, more tools!  Been doing the online pricing and comparing of several named tool suppliers.  I need a wide ranging, complete set of SAE and Metric shallow and deep wells, wheel bearing pullers and drivers, compression tester, leak down tester, micrometers and a metric shit ton of other shiny stuff to start.  Thankfully, I have a good rollaway tool chest and top box already.  The bank account has been awaiting this day.

My dear wife's comment?  How much is this going to cost?  I hate to tell her, but I'll be buying tools till I retire and after.  It's how we make money.

Guess there's three jobs waiting for me Friday.  Flat rate, baby! ;D

Yep, I'm not a mechanic but I have 2 roll arounds full of tools, compressor, grinder, drill press, arbor press, parts wash.....no lathe though.

The real key though; will you remember what the tools you make are for 20 years from now?  ;D

Spent all day yesterday sorting, selecting and cleaning stuff.  Boxes are ready, am I?  Got a whole assortment of specialty tools winging and trucking their way to my house next week.

In response to the question posed by kneescrubber - yeah, since I've had most of these tools for 20 years already!
