Bucket list rides
« on: March 20, 2014, 09:15:44 PM »
Whatcha got? Let's hear them.

I'm a Top Gear fanatic, and would love to do a similar ride through Vietnam .

They also did Burma this season, but in trucks. I'd rather take a bike.

I'd like to do Prudoe Bay to Tierra del Fuego, as well.

At the risk of being cliché, California Highway 1.

Soon as a personal bucket-list, Mexico highway 1 down to Cabo San Lucas and back.

That highway that runs along the coast of California that everyone talks aboot, I can't remember what it's called, Pacific Coast Highway maybe or maybe it's called California Highway 1.

Blue Ridge Parkway.

Colorado.

I'd like to visit Europe. Perhaps some of the Swiss Alps things that DD's been dangling in my face.

 :naughty:

The whole world is my bucket, but what is near the top are (in no particular order):
- Romania
- Tunisia
- Croatia
- French/Italian border
- northern Spain

But for now I'll settle for a two-week trip to England in June

I want to ride the length of the Rockies and complete the loop via the west coast. That'd make an awesome summer trip if/when I manage to retire.

When I retired, I did my first priority and rode the length of the west coast. :inlove: Northern WA state to the Mexican border.
Right now, my only BL goal is to ride the Maritime provinces.

Honestly this is the best message. But I've ridden to most of the US places that's been listed :)

A round trip of the UK and Eire-never done it.

Burma, Malaya, those sorts of places. China, maybe. It's a big place.

Other than the Cabot Trial, I've ridden everywhere I've wanted to east of the Mississippi.

In addition to the Cabot Trail, my bucket list includes the following:

*  to / from Alaska

*  trip covering California and the PNW

*  trip covering northern CO, and parts of WY, ID, and SD.

*  to / from Copper Canyon in Mexico

*  Ireland and northern bits of U.K.

*  Central Europe, mostly around the Alps (France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Austria).

Carl

I've been there,  but haven't really done that. I'm always in a hurry because I have to be back to work in a week and want to get to wherever. So, I blast by all the cool stuff and don't really get to experience it. I guess that is my bucket list, really experience the places I thought I've been.

A bucket list is about dreaming.  My dream is to ride New Zealand - starting at 90 mile beach in the north and ending at the southern tip of the South Island.  Then ship the bike to Australia and circumnavigate Australia.

A dream can be down the street or across the planet.

Any ride can be a good ride.

Wow.  I'm apparently spoiled rotten by having spent so many trips on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  This thread is a good reminder of how lucky I am.  I've often considered a side gig of a tour guide set up to run folk up and down the BRP
making sure to do the fun down/up side roads as an optional bonus.  I've ridden a bit of PCH and I remember liking it immensely but that was pre license and one of my first streetbike experiences and it was on a very cool 87 supermagna
so everything I did on that bike was super cool.

My only real "dream ride" at this point is Alaska.  Though I'd like to spend some time dual sporting in CO and UT... and pretty much anywhere else.  There's a lot of really good DS riding right around me.  I just need to find it.

I still want to go to Iceland.  And Tam & Rue want to take me to New Zealand some year.
