Chowder

Or is it Chowda. What's in it besides clams? I don't like clams. Can you make it with shrimp/crab/fish/oysters....?

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Well, on further thought, there IS corn chowder.

So I guess you could make it with other seafood.

Got to Newfoundland.  If you haven't sworn off 'seafood chowder' after an 8 day ride there I'll buy you a quart of oil.

Corn or codfish will substitute pretty well in a standard New England chowder recipe. Other kinds of seafood, not so much. Manhattan "chowder" will be equally forgettable no matter what you base it on.

According to my good friends at Merriam-Webster, chowder is "a soup or stew of seafood (as clams or fish) usually made with milk or tomatoes, salt pork, onions, and other vegetables (as potatoes); also :  a soup resembling chowder <corn chowder>"

Seafood, yes - corn, technically, no.
