WTB small women's gear!
« on: March 12, 2014, 06:30:04 AM »
1st off, it's not for me... it's for my fiance/wife/woman that I've committed the rest of my life with/Denise. We're looking for a small pair of riding pants,  a small or medium women's helmet & a small pair of women's riding gloves. She is 5'3" tall & weighs 115lbs. We're all set on riding jacket & riding boots. The only helmet that fits her so far is a Schubert C3W Pro(the pro only, the standard didn't fit) but at $815 she's not sure that she wants to pay that much. She wants to buy her gear on her own... PM me w/ what you have. I have a PayPal account now so getting paid for your items should be no problem. Thanks!

I have nothing to sell you but I too have committed my life to a woman with a smallish skull. HJC has some helmets that do fit cranium challenged people. good luck

Sadly, Caberg divested all US distribution; they had some helmets that fit kids and smaller folks very nicely.

As for other gear, ICON is convinced, apparently, that every woman is a size-0. Also check Cycle Gear.

My wife fits about the same size description as your SO.
She has the same issue with finding a good helmet that fit her size. She currently has a Nolan N90 small which is similar to N103. However, the N103 small doesn't fit.
The N90 has features similar to the C3W. I believe the N91 is the replacement for the N90.
Ride safe!

I'll write more later but I wanted to also plug for HJC. I actually wear one of their youth helmets and it's a great fit.  I'll post more from home when I'm not on my phone -- I almost certainly have extra gear in the garage I could send your way. I'm a little smaller than Denise but not by enough to make a difference in clothes size, I'm guessing.

You can also contact Joanne, "The Gear Chick" (even though she spells it wrong on her site ;D ). She recently moved to Philly from California and is working at Revzilla.

I'll send you a PM w/ my contact info. I think that she is definitely leaning towards wanting a modular. I wish she would've tried on the Nolans when we were at the dealer last weekend. I guess it gives us a reason to go back! Thanks!

Maybe you could send a pic or 2 & I can show her & see what she thinks! I'll try to get to the dealer again this weekend to have her try on the Nolans. Thanks!

Thanks! Is it a Men's small? Or is Nolan unisex?

Hopefully poof has some extra pants to sell her, but if not look at the Tourmaster overpants.  I'm similarly sized and they were the only ones that were long enough when I got the right size for the rest of me. I guess everyone that's skinny is supposed to be a midget. :(  I got the Tourmaster Flex but I'm not sure if they make those particular ones anymore.  Jackets didn't fit as well, but the pants are great.  Now that Teknic is out of business Olympia seems to be the only textile gear left that fits reasonably well.

Unisex.  Rue wore this one until she got her Ninja in 2010; then she changed over to a red Nolan.

Scratch, we're going to pass on the Nolan for now, apparently she doesn't want yellow... thanks for you time though & I'll let you know if anything changes.

We're going to try to get to the Triumph dealer in Kalamazoo today so she can try on some helmets, they carry Arai, Shoei & HJC that I know of. Who knows, maybe she'll check out some of the Triumph gear!

Well now we're all set on everything except for a helmet. We lucked out that the Shoei & HJC/Joe Rocket reps were at the Triumph dealer in Kalamazoo! We spent a couple of hours for her to try on helmets & none fit just right so they are shipping some extra smalls for her to try out. If that doesn't work, we know that the Schubert C3W Pro Medium fits her perfectly! She didn't want to spend $815 -10%, but I kay just surprise her & buy it for her! Hopefully that won't upset her because she really wants to get all of her gear on her own. Thanks again for the guidance & wisdom folks! Cheers
