We had two bags of grass, 75 pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

That's a fact. But that won't help his budget magically increase any. :)

Yeah, he'll get bored with it in a week. He needs a Busa. As long as he shows restraint he will be okay. Good thing most of 'em have the stretched swingarms, they're safer.

I know you're kidding but the FJR is the easiest to ride bike
I've ever been on.
Linear power delivery, progressive brakes, ABS, smooth controls.
I can literally let the clutch out at idle and simply motor away.
It would be easier to learn on than a peaky smaller bike.

Congrats Chris! BTDT. My son has become my favorite
riding companion. I'd ride anywhere with him.

Alex is next! ( In a few more years. )

I have a ninja 250 worth under a grand, but sadly I haven't found it's replacement yet so I can't sell it. :(

If you find a good deal on a ninja 500 let me know and then I'll sell him the 250. :P

He's looking for a bike he can get for $1,000, not one that's worth $1,000.  (Aren't we all, really?)  And, he's going to want a front tire.

A new front tire for the bike is $70, and that's for a Pirelli. :P

Kind of picky for a first time buyer. I was happy with a frame or engine and a title.

Oh, Eddie's not picky at all; he's just looking for something that won't bleed him dry in repairs. His budget is pretty tight, and I can't afford to help him out.

If he ends up with a 250 that needs parts let me know.  I have a shed full of them that are about to get thrown out or listed on ebay.  I'm short a frame and wiring harness from having a second bike.  I've got an extra set of purple rims that are his for the taking if you are down this way anytime soon.
