Alabama
« on: March 10, 2014, 09:23:51 AM »
I've got a bit of time coming up and I'm wanting to do an overnight ride from middle TN. I read a ride report a few years back about an interesting little town somewhere near Huntsville, but I can't find it now. Maybe Rogersville? Scottsboro? Anyhow, I'd like to ride some interesting roads in, probably down 231, do something in town in the afternoon/evening. Then ride some fun roads before heading home. Any suggestions?

If you go to Alabama, you must go to Birmingham and check out Barber Motorsports - the grounds are amazing (700 acres), the track blew me away, and the museum is a good enough reason to go all by itself.

Have a good ride!

I know nothing else of Alabama.

You know, maybe that's what I should do. Make 3 days of it. One down, one at Barber, one back.

You may also want to stop at Lynchberg, Tn for the Jack Daniels distillery.
May I mambo dogface to the banana patch?

It's so good that I have gone out of my way to make sure I stop by that incredible facility.
Only motorcycle riders know why a dog sticks its head out of a car window.

That's a regular stop for me.

I'm assuming there are motorcycle friendly places to stay near Barber?
