help a motorcyclist celebrate his 80th birthday..
« on: February 27, 2014, 07:52:19 AM »
Im posting this on several different messages boards, trying to get as many people to help as possible..

So some of you have met my friend Bob (we call him Coffee Bob, more on that later) he is a close family friend, and a motorcyclist. However he has given up his riding career a few years ago, and just the other day sold his last remaining bike. Which I know is killing him, but I also know he is happy that the bike is in my family now and will get some use.

Coffee Bob
578 Prospect St.
West Boylston, MA 01583

Bob has been a friend of Mrs OSJ and her family for longer than I have known them, he has watched her grow up. And since his wife passed away (26 years ago) he has been retired. Every Tuesday and Wednesday (my wife is a Barber and works those 2 days) for the last 22 years he has brought Mrs OSJ a coffee 2x's a day. So my kids have dubbed him "coffee bob" For the last 8 years or so he comes in with his adult daughter that is disabled, and he spends most of his time taking care of her.

Here is Bob just the other day when he was selling me his ST90 (he has owned since new)

Last year Bob sold his cherry V65 magna to a close friend of mine.

Bob turns 80 on March 19th. I would love to get 80 or more random people to send him a card. I know it would cheer him up and he would talk about it for a long time.

So if you all would like to help me do this please post up on this thread, I will send you a private message with his address.

Those are the kind of guys that are getting harder to find... I'd be happy to send him a card.
the above are merely the ramblings of a hamfisted fuckwit who has broken too many helmets.

I replied on the other board, but, hell, I'll send him two cards!
We had two bags of grass, 75 pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

You all have been awesome!  I think he received over $200 in DD cards!

On his bday we took the 82 cards he got (as of today he is up to 108) and taped them to my shop door and we let him sit on the ST with Mrs OSJ and his girlfriend Ginny.

Then we took him and his family out for a nice dinner to celebrate.  It was a great day for him!  He still talks about it every time he comes into the shop.

Outstanding! Take a bow, OSJ!
