"showa front forks from 06 GSXR 1000"

Is that a common/straight-up mod to do?

But... why? This would have made sense on an old CB750 or even original Goldwing, but why not just get a Hayabusa instead? Points awarded for EXQUISITE use of dirt bike bars.

(and you can't tell me that the windshield doesn't bend in half....)

That's---interesting.  I'm not sure what to think.  I have wondered what one could do to one of those to make it a better ST mount, but that giant windshield would have to go.

1955 Vincent Black Knight. One owner since new. He paid £381.18 for it when that was a lot of money.

Well you have to give him credit for creative writing and all. $8000 is probably a little above range for that rolling turd, and I'll wait for the novel to hit the Goodwill used rack for $.75 but nice try anyway.

sadly, the ad on Houston Craigslist has gone, but its memory lingers, on the interweeb.

You want a car that gets the job done? You want a car that's hassle free? You want a car that literally no one will ever compliment you on? Well look no further.
The 1999 Toyota Corolla.
Let's talk about features.
Bluetooth: nope
Sunroof: nope
Fancy wheels: nope
Rear view camera: nope...but it's got a transparent rear window and you have a fucking neck that can turn.
Let me tell you a story. One day my Corolla started making a strange sound. I didn't give a shit and ignored it. It went away. The End.
You could take the engine out of this car, drop it off the Golden Gate Bridge, fish it out of the water a thousand years later, put it in the trunk of the car, fill the gas tank up with Nutella, turn the key, and this puppy would fucking start right up.
This car will outlive you, it will outlive your children.
Things this car is old enough to do:
Vote: yes
Consent to sex: yes
Rent a car: it IS a car
This car's got history. It's seen some shit. People have done straight things in this car. People have done gay things in this car. It's not going to judge you like a fucking Volkswagen would.
Interesting facts: This car's exterior color is gray, but it's interior color is grey. In the owner's manual, oil is listed as "optional." When this car was unveiled at the 1998 Detroit Auto Show, it caused all 2,000 attendees to spontaneously yawn. The resulting abrupt change in air pressure inside the building caused a partial collapse of the roof. Four people died. The event is chronicled in the documentary "Bored to Death: The Story of the 1999 Toyota Corolla"
You wanna know more? Great, I had my car fill out a Facebook survey.
Favorite food: spaghetti
Favorite tv show: Alf
Favorite band: tie between Bush and the Gin Blossoms
This car is as practical as a Roth IRA. It's as middle-of-the-road as your grandpa during his last Silver Alert. It's as utilitarian as a member of a church whose scripture is based entirely on water bills.
When I ran the CarFax for this car, I got back a single piece of paper that said, "It's a Corolla. It's fine."
Let's face the facts, this car isn't going to win any beauty contests, but neither are you. Stop lying to yourself and stop lying to your wife. This isn't the car you want, it's the car you deserve: The fucking 1999 Toyota Corolla.

Actually, we did.

That was an inclusive "the good guys" we, not a 'murican claiming victory.

The Germans in WW1 were, on the whole, pretty decent people too. But we had a huge F-off Navy (then).

I'd bet this is a good investment bike.

Honda made a bunch. They didn't sell well despite being a really capable bike.  So they donated the unsold bikes on dealer floors to local schools mechanics programs. Thereby making the actual number of bikes remaining bikes out there in the wild, significantly fewer.

I've personally seen non-running CX Turbo 'basketcases' go for significantly more than this one is being asked for.

***ALL TRADES CONSIDERED*** Big Bear Chopper GTX-F. This bike has less than 5000 miles on it and wasn't completed with its custom build until 2013. Pictures do no justice at all... Still basically a new bike and no one in this area has even seen this bike at all! This was Big Bears most expensive bike built when completed and not to mention the tens of thousands spent afterwards in custom touches. 100 inch S&S motor BBC smooth .. Baker RSD 6 speed transmission with hydraulic clutch, 300 series rear tire, Billet alloy wheels, Focal stereo with subs, mids and tweeters, amps, custom LED lighting, Built in iPad which controls multiple functions, stereo is amazing and close to $20,000 just in stereo and custom install. Liberty paint scheme, fully air brushed and tasteful, true flames, eagle and flag. Hideaway power license plate, custom bars and controls, wrapped pipes, foot rest, you name it and this bike has it. One off show quality and built very well, we have had a local bike expert go over and around this and he continues to find features and is amazed by the overall quality of the build. Built to steal the show but also built to ride, no reason at all that you couldn't cross the country on this bike, dependably and comfortably. I'm thinking about buying this bike for my girlfriend.
She is one hot, buff, foul mouth, trash talk'in bitch that happens to love that color, baby powdered blue.
