I don’t know anything about this bike in particular, but it tends to remind me that rare, valuable and desirable are all different words.

I have one much like that, but it doesn't come with a helmet and Sena.  It does come with an added 50,000 mile premium road testing package and TiGB certification, which is not a cheap option.

For a "new" 2000 w/ under 200 miles.  You'll have to replace every rubber bit on it and some metal stuff as well.  $$  Cool concept.  Wouldn't want to own it.

I'm looking at a KLR beater that needs a battery and carb work. $800.00.

I'll flash $500 at him and see if that works.

Talking of decent prices, there are still a few brand new MG Grisos left in the States. Under $8K for one of these is bordering on ridiculous. https://www.eurocyclelasvegas.com/inventory/2017-moto-guzzi-GRiSO-1200-8v-se-las-vegas-nv-89146-2115358i

While that "price" sounds fantastic, be warned there is about $2K in add-on stuff that dealer tacks on. So OTD costs are a bit over $10K. Still not a bad price on a new Griso, if you are the right type to own a Guzzi.

I think this guy may qualify as the most optimistic person on craigslist.

Oh, and here's a tip from a professional editor: When you've spent $75,000 on something and you're trying desperately to unload it for $40,000 and you use the phrase "$75k invested," I think maybe the verb "invested" doesn't mean what you think it means.

If hideous is the new pretty, sure... ok... roll with that. :)

I just think a motorcycle should be a motorcycle. I mean, you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig, right? That thing...? That no longer counts as a motorcycle. It's just a mechanical thing that someone bolted some stuff onto, then painted it. * shrug *

ZZR1200...? That's a pretty motorcycle. Harley FatBob or maybe the XR1200...? That's a pretty motorcycle. The Night Train...? Yep, pretty. The Ducati Monster, et al...? Pretty motorcycle.

That abomination? Someone with more money than taste and brains had a wet dream of LSD-induced craziness, and that unridable, unusable thing is the result.

Pretty...? I mean, it's got nice enough looking paint, if you're an unimaginative slave to monochromatic boredom.

Yeah, "purty" and "rolling art" were not words that came to mind when I saw it, but that's why aesthetics are a very personal thing.
