Live Free....Or In Massachusetts
« on: February 07, 2014, 02:54:47 PM »

Pretty much sums it up.  We just had a report issued in Mass by "The Committee to Reduce Firearm Violence" titled "Strategies for Reducing Gun Violence in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts".  Things may start to get worse here shortly.......

It's already in the Everything Guns section, I don't think this thread going off the rails is that much of a concern.

My letter to my wonderful representatives......

Quote
Good Afternoon,

I take exception to the "Strategies for Reducing Gun Violence in the Commonwealth of Massachussetts".  Obviously this is a well intentioned attempt at modifying existing gun laws in the commonwealth.  However it is also obvious that the persons on this committee are not fully familiar with current firearms laws, in the commonwealth or federally.

I feel a true overhaul of the firearm laws in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is in order.  There are many laws on the books in MA that have been proven to be ineffective in curtailing gun violence.  There is also a fair amount of conflicting statements and lack of clear definitions that allow local licensing authorities (Police Chiefs) to interpret as they see fit.

Please review this summary response: http://goal.org/Documents/2014-GOAL-Report-Response.pdf

An honest discussion needs to happen here in Massachusetts about our gun laws.  Constitutional rights as United States citizens are being treated as privileges and they are not synonymous.

Thank you for your time.

Sad, in a span of  less than four years, California went from THE state with the insane gun laws to one that's not that bad.

New England stopped being part of America a long time ago in terms of actual freedoms.  NJ sucks just as much.  Thank god PA still remembers what document was signed here in 1789.
