Took a ride to SE Ohio today , roads were empty, gee how awful.... I also broke in my brandy new IXS RX4 gloves, gotta say these were a find and a half, high end gloves from Sportbike track gear. They are a full gauntlet, could be used as track day or racing gloves, yet is the most comfortable pair I have owned in years right out of the box. best of all I bought them at closeout price of 100 bucks for a 250 glove.I never hear of the brand till a few years ago, big in Europe, and just starting to make inroads here.I ate at the regular Mexican restaurant  in Marietta for lunch. that is all :twofinger:

While it may not seem like much in the grand scheme of things, I had the opportunity to take my first 100+ mile solo ride on my new bigger bike today.  Woot.

I didn't crash, hit any forest rats (deer) or get caught out in the severe thunderstorm which blasted through my riding area this afternoon.  Double woot.

This morning.
Checked radar, good to go early, home just in time.
Started to rain when I pulled into the garage.

Chilly ride in this morning (37).

I noticed I was getting pretty low on fuel. So, I plan to make productive use of my time today at the office and plan a route to a Sheetz for this afternoon.   :D

Rode a loop around Lake Harmony & Brass Castle Rd over in Jerzey.  First time our-of-state on my new Versys.  CR519 is closed above Milford but the detour is fun most of the way.

Teaching in an in-house training class for the guys in our Wilmington NC office for the week.  Took the opportunity to ride the bike down.   Nothing to interesting but I guess I was gathering wool and missed where Rte 17 takes a left in Williamston and stayed on 64  almost all the way to Rocky Mount.

The good part was from there I ended up taking country roads I've never ridden before to work my back down to Wilmington.

I stayed in Pa yesterday and today, but it was still good. Only one tar and chip road on the the ride and I had to use it to go to my motorcycle inspection station.

No. But I sat on someone else's bike today and I liked it.
So I bought it.☺
It's a 2008 CBF1000A. Apparently it's not sold in the USA.
Anyone want a US BMW? It's an R1100S with a non functioning rear brake (unless it can be fixed)
My GPS just told me to turn left, then turn left, then turn left, then turn left.
So if I go too far left do I end up right?

Sweet Honda! I have never heard of that model. Looks like Hondas take on a bandit. What are the particulars on the BMW?  R11S has been one of my favorite looking beemers.

Bought a rappie pie at Carl nation which we will eat tomorrow.
And yes. Scallops and poutine at West Head takeout in Clark's Harbour. It was worth the drive. This province is fabulous for riding. We took #3 along the coast from Yarmouth to Cape Sable island then back. Tomorrow we're moving the toy hauler to Five Islands which is on the Bay of Fundy. The highest tides in the world are there. 52 FEET !

Rode from Five Islands to Advocate. The locals call that route the mini Cabot Trail. It was a survival contest with crazy sharp turns. I bottomed the suspension 3 times. Unfortunately the pavement was crap. But it was worth it.

So the Five Islands?  I didn’t see them in the bay on the map.  Is that because they’re only visible at low tide, or because they’re only islands at high tide?

My GPS just told me to turn left, then turn left, then turn left, then turn left.
So if I go too far left do I end up right?

In all seriousness, Bay of Fundy is on my bucket list just to see the tidal swing.  I've spent a career tracking water surface levels while doing bathymetric surveys through the tidal cycle.  I still can't fathom trying to survey while literally falling 46 ft  :o

Fathom. I love the word "fathom". It conjures up images of the days of sailing ships when men were men and not wimps like me. We just spent 2 weeks riding around various parts of Nova Scotia and stopped in to several maritime museums. The raw courage of those mariners is staggering. And if you like studying the sea then Parrsboro is a site you can't miss. We watched the tide turn this afternoon and within minutes we could see a difference.  In the bay the water runs in so quickly that a marathon runner wouldn't be able to keep up with the speed of the incoming tide.
