Did you ride today?
« Reply #350 on: February 25, 2018, 08:50:49 AM »
Does straddling the bike as I move it from the basement back into the garage count?

If the motorcycle was moving while you were sitting on it and your feet weren't touching the ground, then yes!

I should have known there’d be a catch in there somewhere.  :(

I don't let wet or cold stop me. Snow ,slush, and ice does, but not cold or wet. Cold and wet might do the trick, too.

There's nearly two feet of snow on the ground out there
and the roads are covered in salt and sand!!

If you're gonna go around doing that sort of thing you need to trade that Yammie for a BMW scooter. ;)

Not a whole lotta miles, about 100mi..
The roads are still very dirty in my area, so a slow pace, but still fun.

I got out for about three hours this afternoon. The route included PA32, AKA River Road, along the Delaware. It's been about a year since I was there last. 25 MPH signs have popped up everywhere, the overall limit is now 40. Worse, any of the roads associated with PA32 are similarly marked.

"Back in the day" it was a fun road. That was my last ride there unless I have to be there.  :-\

Switched my work hours for the summer to 4-10s with Fridays off.  As a result, the Mrs and I don't ride in together any longer.  So for the past two weeks it's either been riding home in the rain or riding in in the rain.  ;)

Hopefully the shitty weather pattern takes a turn for the better soon.

I got out yesterday for the first time since The Virginian's meet.  (Are you old enough to remember that show?  I consider myself fortunate that I can remember that meet!  Not enough Jägerbombs I guess.)  Not an unbearable hiatus considering we spent 3 weeks in Germany.  Was a near perfect day for riding, overcast, dry & 70F.

Found some new roads.  Never know what you are going to see.

I got the 1190 out for a couple hours. I've spent the last couple weekends working all day (crisis at work). 40 hours OT in the last 9 days. Unpaid of course. I saw a dry window and went for a little mixed surface rip. Good time.

Similar, I haven't been on the bike since last Friday. Its just be to damn hot for a pleasure ride. Took it out last night with the heat index bouncing around 100F.  90 minutes and was done.  It's just no fun riding in a hair dryer.

Mrs. Mini is working 75 miles away and having to stay there, so I've been riding every other day to visit, rain or shine. There hasn't been much shine lately, but I'd rather ride than drive.

The sport-touring Tundra is in for it's annual state-sponsored extortion (inspection)  So I'm riding in today and tomorrow and testing out the heated gear.

27 on the way in this morning.  Might be time to swap windshields for the season.

People whine about PA's inspection. I used to be an inspection and general mechanic in PA, back in the day. If I want a used car, I'm going to PA. Maryland and Delaware are just complete jokes for safety. PA might have its share of bribery-taking shops, but largely, PA has the safest used cars around.

You couldn't GIVE me a used car from Maryland, and if it's from Delaware, it damned well better be $500 or like 2 years old.
