Need some help from Northern folks
« on: January 28, 2014, 03:02:48 PM »
Hi, we got some of this cold white stuff falling from the sky last night and we're not quite sure what it is. I'm told by some of the Ancient locals, it's common up north. See pic:

The city has shut down because of it and we're talking about raiding our nearby grocery store for provisions.

Which city?

Most of them in central and southern Ms. This one is Jackson.

The Governor has declared a state of emergency and the highway patrol is advising everyone stay in their homes until the all clear is given.

Well considering they shut down places where it snows all the time I believe it.

I'm sure many, if not most, drivers have never driven in snow.  Even those that do often drive like maniacs.

What are the odds the state even has a plow or salt spreader?

Lol...luckily I have no stock in Florida oranges. It's not going that far south as most of the orange farms are mid Florida.

THERE IS STILL SNOW ON THE GROUND!!!!!!!

24 hours later the snow is still here. Its not on the roads, but I don't think that matters. The snow will somehow cause people to skid helplessly across the warm dry roads and crash into anything nearby, suffering horrible and disfiguring injuries. Curse this mysterious cold white stuff.

Thank God I followed my government's advice and stayed in my home, thus avoiding the horrific fate of those who ignored it.

I talked today to a friend who lives in Atlanta. He left work yesterday afternoon at 3:00 PM and finally got home today at 2:00 PM. He ended up spending the night with some friends who live along along his route because the road was impassable due to snow, ice and abandoned vehicles.
