2020 Total Mileage
« on: December 31, 2020, 05:17:18 PM »
4546 miles on the FJ-09.
5611 miles on the CRF450L.
Total of 10,157 miles for the year.

First time I've ever put more miles on the dual-sport bike than the street bike. My wife quit riding so I don't get the weekend, longer distance, touring-type rides anymore. I do more of the day-long local/regional dual-sport rides now.

OK, just 4845 on Ernst this year.  Down just a touch from 2019.  No trip to Montana, and since July I'm just two miles from my sweetie instead of 200.
Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen and regulating the circulation.

Bad year for me... I never got to do any extended trips this year. I had a 10-day trip to all the great twisties in the southeast planned then COVID hit. I did exactly 3 overnight trips on the SDGT: 3-day weekend to Canaan Valley, three day weekend to the Catskills, overnighter to WV. But no roadside chats with The Man and no mechanical issues other than wearing out rear tires too fast :-)

Super Duke: 7,466 miles

530 EXC: 664 miles

TOTAL: 8,130 miles

very little. either working in hospital, so no time to ride, or trying to avoid increasing the load on health care by not falling off, so not riding. a few  hundred miles at most.

Similar here (except the working part).  I avoided riding when the local hospitals were reported to be busy.  And the elderly doggo needed to be carried out for his walks, which is my job, so I couldn't be away for more than a few hours at a time.  Still, the short rides I was able to accomplish have helped familiarize the area after moving here the previous season and there's a fair bit of pleasant riding nearby.

6357 on Fozzy but that's been since Aug. Probably only a handful on the XT for the rest of the year. Tragically, that's the highest mileage year since probably 2012 or so.   Maybe longer. Maybe much longer.

2021 will probably be a fairly high mileage year but it will be mostly commuting with a total potential of 23,400 miles possible.  Remove crap weather, vacations, and miscellaneous needs for 4 wheels and it will likely be way less. 😐

0 on the moto. Lots more on the bicycle (Strava says 877 between biking, walking, hiking and running), so that's OK.

There's nowhere to go and the kids can't or don't want to ride yet. The poor Ninja has spent the last two years on the stands. :(

2010 WR250X         9,943          10,563         620

Is the WR tagged? If so, you have to come over to this side of the state and ride with me. 620 is shameful for that fun bike.

I avoided riding much, nowhere to go and I totally shunned out of state travel due to the pandemic. On the few occasions I did take it out it was mostly short local rides50 to 150 miles. Some parts of Pa I avoided due to the wackos in denial. Started at 7359 ended at 8562, so 1203 miles which is more than I thought I did.
I felt it wasn't worth the risk and am happy with that.
This year who knows, depends on how quick everyone gets vaccinated. And that will also affect the number of Air shows I get to participate in also.We already had a scheduled movie appearance cancelled indefinitely, a bummer as those are interesting and fun.

Much like Jack, I rode a total of 2,410 miles in 2020.

Any excuse to run a errand on the bike.  GPS indicates I was never more than 60 air miles from home.

Looking forward to a better 2021.

[My spreadsheet is showing - maybe something I'd rather not know - that it cost me about $2.15 per mile to ride it so far.  That is a fully sunk cost including amortized depreciation, insurance, plus operating expenses.  Operating expenses are <$0.20/mile.  It would be a whole lot more economical if I rode more.  Go figure!]

Hmmm.

COVID made this a tricky year to put up big miles for a number of reasons  (“GPS indicates I was never more than 60 air miles from home” - Skee).

I feel you, Skee!  And Jadz!   Still, I managed to get out and about a little, including a trip from Seattle to Oregon.

Adding up all the bikes it’s 3,200 plus 650 plus 750 plus 2,000 = 6,600 total miles

Not a bad year...  but I’m semi retired in 2021 and I really hope for a COVID vaccine and 10,000 miles.  :bigok:

No idea of my bike mileage this year, but I did have to change the oil twice. I have the 08 GSA set to 4k oil change using the GS911.
My best guess is somewhere in the 8k range

I bought like, 6 bikes in 2020. No way to calculate this... I'll guess:

S1000R got about 8k
890 R got about 3k
Thruxton R about 4k (now sold)
Tenere got about 200 miles (sold in 2 weeks after purchase... hated it)
RC51 SP2 got about 500 miles (couldn't bring myself to possibly damage it so sold it)
990 Adventure about 1k (bought in Nov)
SV1000 about 500 miles (sold - clunker)

So 17k-ish?

Like just about everyone else, my mileage was down in 2020.

1996 Suzuki GN125                882
1997 Triumph Speed Triple    3137
2006 Triumph Daytona 675    1845
2014 Honda VFR800              5722
                                          11586

In 2019 I rode half a dozen press bikes and in 2020 didn't ride a single one. Really only took on real trip, up to Road America. All the boring details are here (http://www.theridesofar.com/2020/12/my-year-in-riding-2020/) if anyone wants to read about a really uneventful year of riding.
