For 2021 national meet question

If, a national meet were to be held in 2021, where in the country would you pick to have said meet? i have favorites but want to see what the populace here would like. Also what time frame? What month, weekend , mid week to weekend, what?

I love riding in WV.

When we're staying down there, 33 between Harrisonburg and Seneca is a great out-n-back couple of hours when we can't do a whole day ride. We stay right in the middle of that, near Brandywine.

Now and then a fancy brunch at The Inn in Lewisburg is a wonderful half-day jaunt, too.

Separate east/west gatherings would require less travel days to/from, but it'd nice to all get together somewhere cool in the middle again.

This is a big ass country, with not nearly enough in the middle to match what's at either end.

And it's only 1600 miles from San Diego.

I'd be more inclined to choose Eureka Springs.  The Black Hills are 1700 predominantly FLAT & BORING miles from eastern PA through some of the worst the rust belt has to offer, whereas Eureka Springs is 400 miles closer along the spine of the Appalachians.  I would definitely trailer out to South Dakota, and ride to Arkansas.  Either way I'm in IF it doesn't conflict with our personal travel plans.  The earlier we have a tentative date the easier for me to plan around it.

The ironic bit is that there are a lot of flat and boring (and unutterably hot) miles in those 1600 it takes to get to Colorado, too...

Eureka Springs would be cool - as much as I love WV (and I DO love WV), I've done it to death, both independently and in organized events.

From a timing standpoint, I like how the national was always set up in the middle of the week. I usually would make a week + ride out of it. I would take a few days to get there, attend the meet and have a few days to get back home. If it is on the weekend, that is pushing it to get down and back on an extended weekend. I'm game with either Eureka springs or CO being as i have not ridden in either. I would trailer out to CO if that is where it is decided to be. As Frank said, just too freakin flat and straight to get out there. As for summer or fall regional meets, I think it will probably come down to how it has been the last few years. Call it, and they will come.
