Is this deal legit or a scam?
« on: April 20, 2020, 04:54:05 AM »
https://www.bianxingc.com/black-widow-af9034hd-89-arched-folding-motorcycle-ramp-system-p-61637.htm

This ramp is normally $280 or more on other sites (if even available).  This site has it for $89.

Other than the site being too new to have much data on it, it doesn't set off any online stink alarms.  Checking the website, it's registered in NJ.

That said, I can't see how they can sell this item for 1/3 of what everyone else is charging...which is what makes me think it's not legit. ???

If it is legit, its probably similar to BANGOOD. They can sell stupid cheap because the product is leaving the manufacturer in China, being batch loaded onto a truck to be batch loaded on a container, to be loaded onto a container ship etc...

Shipping time can be upwards of a month and may get "delayed" in customs.

Buy something for two bucks, pay the tree dollar shipping and see if it shows.

edit- shipping on a $3.00 item is twenty five bucks. Never mind.

So it's like Amazon Prime.

I've never experienced that with Amazon Prime but thank you for your input.

It may be a fine ramp. I would have a problem riding my bike up anything called the black widow.

Scam. If you pay close attention to the site layout, you can spot these. They all use a template like that, they're AI-generated sites meant to take your credit card. Usually the products are WAY more differential in pricing, so I'm surprised they bothered with this one. Usually it's some $1000 - $5000 product for $89 - $289, and there's no way it could ever be a sustainable model. There will almost always be some version of "bang" "xing" "xen" "qing" "qa", etc, in the domain name that has ZERO English meaning or readability.

Anything hosted on or affiliated with banggood or alibaba is likely legit, but shipping will be full priced and take three months.

Thanks.  I knew it looked too good to be true, but what searching I did made it look legit.  Had the price point been more in line, I would have fallen for it.

I just recently saw an ad for a flash sale of a Honda 2000 generator for like 99 bucks.  I couldn't even bring myself to get near the link.  Surprised to see it on FB tho.  Thought some of that level of stuff would be vetted.  But I'm not a big FB guy so I have limited experience.

Believe zero of what you hear about the safety of FB ads; they're as dollar hungry and happy to look the other way as every other ad platform.

Hey, I like that idea.

I get hit with the guitar ones all the time. Always a place going out of business selling Gibsons, Fenders, PRS, etc., for $99 bucks a pop. Been getting them forever, now they're out of business due to the virus.

I do that on forums that sold out to commercial interests and act like paying advertisers are "members".
