Google Nona's Polpette (Italian meatballs in red sauce). Easy and delicious. By far the most requested recipe of any of my goto's.

I think that my wife is discovering that she’s not ready to retire yet.  I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not.

I'm spending more time listening to music (while working from home) that I haven't played in a long time. Re-discovering old favorites.

While working out in the basement listening to basic Pandora i realized they are going commercial free now. Also saw this weekend that Direct TV is giving some free premium movie channels. That was mighty nice of them.

Getting all my spring yard work done.  Mowing, trimming, planting, splitting wood.  Wow I still hate this shit.

Better than sitting in a office that is not doing anything I guess.

I cut down trees I eat my lunch can't hang around in bars.

I love mowing.  We're probably a month out of actually being able to though.  Just cleaning out the raised beds for this year.  If it ever stops raining / blowing we have a ton of brush to burn.

Last week, Lori Lightfoot, the mayor of Chicago, shut down the big bike paths and some of the larger parks.   This week, she's a meme

Is it the barrels or the flying pigs that will cause me to see this?

I had bought Aura a DSLR camera for Christmas. I haven't spent much time with it. Today i went onto Nikon's website to get the actual operating manual and figure out how to use the thing. I found a ton of information on the camera plus all Nikon's online classes are free till the end of April. I'll be checking out a few of the classes before the end of the month.

That we can still laugh. Things have been so stressful and serious lately. We have not been having much fun. Aura and I were sitting down to dinner this evening. We had the television on watching the news (more stress). A commercial for Carl's Golf land comes on with no audio, just written words.  https://youtu.be/C6t3GfzLvqk.  When it gets down to the line "with welcome moments of silence", our female dog Simone sitting in front of the television farted fairly loud. We both busted out laughing. Not that it was that funny, but we both kept laughing (tears coming down laughing) for close to 5 minutes, neither one of us could stop.  I guess we just needed to let it out. It really felt good to have a laugh.

Robby Krieger is giving Doors guitar lessons on YouTube. Last night was "Moonlight drive" the day before was "Roadhouse Blues". Kind of cool he is doing that.  Funny last night watching and he is showing off his 60 Gibson Les Paul. He then knocks over his 54 that he played on moonlight drive.

Feeding the 80 yo guy who owns the garage the racecar is in. He has a lot of underlying health issues, so helping him out with a few dinners and grocery runs.

Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band is doing a live concert on Facebook at 6 pm on Thursday! They've got two different June show dates that I could POTENTIALLY make work *IF* things return to normal, but that's a big if right now, so I know where I'll be come Thursday at 6 EDT. They're a fun band and I'd encourage those of you with bookface accounts to give them a few minutes of your time!

This is one of my favorite songs of theirs. They invited fans to send in video clips with the different lyrics, which they put altogether to make the video:

I used to make a bigger impression.

I learned that if I slow down I seem to get more done because I get it right the first time.
I learned that I’m a half decent mechanic.
I learned that I can stretch out a chocolate bar for 3 days rather than pop the whole thing in 10 seconds.
I learned that tea is a nice relaxing drink.
I learned that there’s food in the bottom of the freezer that was made in the 20th century.
I learned that my wife is even more special today than she was yesterday and that it’s true more so every day.
I learned that friendships change over time; that some fade away and new ones emerge.
I learned that in the end we die alone even if someone is holding your hand.
I learned that I disrespected many people like truckers and grocery store shelf stockers and laundry workers in hospitals and the clerks in convenience stores and that I was an asshole for doing that.
I learned that being nice and kind is far more important than I ever considered.
I learned that I’m not as nice as I can be.
I hope to learn that I can change that.
My GPS just told me to turn left, then turn left, then turn left, then turn left.
So if I go too far left do I end up right?

I learned that there’s no way I could handle a mission to Mars.

I learned that the Mars mission will fail because you’d need a 500 Tb drive for the porn collection, too much dedicated storage for lube, and by the time the crew reaches Mars, they’d be unable to reproduce because they’ve wore down  their willies after the lube ran out.

I found there’s not enough interesting material on YouTube to fill the time I’m doing nothing from work.

You need a better FTL drive.

I've learned that my typical day is the same as before (retirement) but that, if I have to go somewhere, it takes (at least) 1/3rd less time to get there.

I learned that all you chuckleheads need to get off the internet in the middle of the day because my response times are being impacted.

I’ve found a renewed interest in scratch cooking new things, the energy to complete some overdue projects and really like the time spent out in the yard.
