Today I'm listening to some Leonard Cohen. As cool as I thought he was in the 60s and 70s, he was still making good music when he was in his 70s and 80s!

I'll drop the turd in the punchbowl here, mostly I listen to Tchaikovsky and other classical music as played by the Halle Orchestra or Ralph Vaughn Williams conducting the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and various others from Vivaldi, Boccherini, Rachmaninoff etc.

If I want something a little more modern it's early Black Sabbath, Led Zep or Metallica or some good old Tear -in-my-Beer country but for the most part it's old stuff.

Also, surprisingly, Cindy Lauper. Get away from her 80s pop and into some of her duets and torch song albums and talk about belting out the tunes.

I can be hit and miss with Jack's work.  So far, I enjoy most (not all) of the new album from The Raconteurs.

I'm normally into Baroque, Renaissance lute, Jazz piano, some Celtic and New Age, but lately I've been playing around with Pandora.  I'm finding that Loreen McKennitt is fun--kinda like Enya but more ballads.  That lead to Blackmore's Night (Deep Purple and Rainbow rocker Blackmore and his vocalist wife Night performing Medieval and Renaissance themed music), Secret Garden (Eurovision winner), and Faun (German mysticism? Pagan Folk?).
