Gained a couple pounds while on vacation because we ate really well.  Got home on Friday and ate something that didn't agree on Saturday.  Lost everything gained plus a pound.  If this keeps up today, I might crack 160 by tomorrow.  Pushing fluids and saltines to ease the cramps.

Apparently, it was the flu, not bad food.  Down for four days and queasy for two more.  Back to class today.

!!  Winnah!  One intermediate goal reached.  160.2 on the scale this morning.    :wings: :wings: :wings:

Not weight loss, but I won a giveaway on Dr. Terry Wahl's site and get a 30 minute Skype chat with her on Saturday.  Not really sure what to ask, as she advocates a super strict keto diet with tons of greens, coconut oil, and a little meat (there are also other "levels" of her diet listed in her book).

Let me just give you my background on this subject. All through high school and college I was an athlete. I held steady around 145. I joined the military thinking that I would get even more cut. I put on 20 lbs at my first unit but no big deal because some of it was definitely muscle. Then I broke my femur in a dirt bike accident. That's what changed me. I had always attacked life and sports with no holds bar, now I was hesitant and unsure in my ability. I gained more weigh, got really upset and had a hard time with my personal life. I became a yo-yo when it came to weight. I always made my weigh-ins for work but not the way I want to.

Over the last year, I have tried to change my way of thinking. I tried making good choices, joined a boot camp, and starting running without pain (3 knee surgeries from femur). I have not had as much success as I would have liked but I feel better in all areas; mentally, physically, and emotionally.

So last month I got new running shoes and started running more though I have been doing boot camp for a while. I am going to meet my goal! Because I did not do well over the holidays, I hate even typing it but I started March at 192. Yesterday I weighed in at 185.4. Just over 6 lbs. Its not great but it's a start and I'm trying to do it the right way instead of doing it unhealthy like in the past. My biggest problem is portion control so that is what I'm focusing on.

I read this thread all the time and just want to say thank you. Everyone here gives me the knowledge and hope that I can do it. And maybe someone else can start getting healthier too!

The problem is that most people overlook the healthy southern food and head straight for Paula Deen's deep frier BS.  A baked sweet potato, collards, and a pile of bbq without a bun is actually a pretty healthy meal.

That's pretty much the kind of meals I was eating to stay on track.

You didn't get adventurous and order chitlins?  I've wanted to try them for a while, but most places bread them to some extent so they aren't an option anymore. :(  I've make a goal to try more of the variety meats, so I guess tripe is next (probably in pho).

Now the next 10 is for my 6/23 trackday.

Just checked, and I've lost 2.5 of that already.  another 7.5 and I'm at goal.   8)

Big milestone; congrats!

I was gearing up to be very good at my son's birthday party yesterday. Turns out getting a stomach virus is a great way to stay on track.

She's got a worm in 'er belly? That's disgusting! That's interesting, but very disgusting.

This new job is a great weight loss program.  Started the week up a bit at 157, kept an eye on my intake and stepped on the scale this morning at 154.      The Fitbit tells me I've done more than 10k steps every day this week to go with all the physical exertion lifting dirt bikes, mounting and balancing tires and all the other daily tasks.

Goal 1a has been met...which was 240 lbs (which I was hoping to hit by June 1)
Goal 1b is 200 lbs, hopefully by Thanksgiving.

I hit 48 pounds this morning...do I hear 50? Come on, fifty...momma wants a hot stone massage!!!

Even better is that I went to the doctor on Friday and in the last 14 months, I've dropped my cholesterol from 203 to 167 and my triglycerides from 219 to 70! Thank you, clean eating and bike riding!!!
