Lorenzo Retires !!!
« on: November 14, 2019, 08:58:11 AM »
JL99 announced that he is retiring after this weekend. Lots more info at motogp.com

Perhaps Zarco will come out of this season in good shape after all. I guess we will see how this plays out this month.

I never cared for Lorenzo, but it is sad to seem him retire in this way.

Just hard to believe how someone with so much talent and drive could not do anything with that Honda.

Started hearing those rumors once the press conference was scheduled.

I think I'll just +1 ixxion. I agree with both comments.

With his continuing back injury / issues, he has evidently lost the motivation (guts?) to push to the limit as that could result in more crashing/more injuries. I guess that's the difference between fighting for podiums and fighting to be in the points.

Gary, thanks for posting.

IMO it's time, had a great run.

Oh, and lets not forget he is probably pretty well off financially.  :bigok:

I don't think most of us mortals can comprehend the level these guys operate at. If you can't give 101% 101% of the time you're a back marker. the slightest hint of doubt, Conscious or otherwise, and you're finished...
I was never a Lorenzo fan, I never wished injury on him but didn't mind when he crashed out. but he is one of the greats!

I had two different friends who raced cars tell me the same story: until they had a very bad crash, they never noticed the wall. After the crash and recovery, all they could see was the wall.

I was never a big fan of George, but respected his racecraft.
