FREE: Tandberg TR-2045 Receiver (vintage)
« on: November 25, 2018, 07:53:47 AM »
I bought this receiver when I was in college (circa 1980). As I recall it was entry-level audiophile stuff at the time. It served me well for many years but now has been sitting in a box for over a decade.

If you're into vintage audio stuff, this may be of interest to you. No doubt it's probably worth a couple hundred dollars to the right person, but I'm not willing to hunt them down.

Do some research on the brand and model. I think the FM receiver bit was acting up. The shaft on the volume knob is slightly bent but works fine. Comes with original box and the funky DIN connectors for the tape monitor and phono inputs.

Free to good home (not someone that's just going to flip it), but you pay shipping from 15668.

I'll pull it out of the box, power it up, and take a few photos later today.

Oh man. I'd have been all over this just a month or two ago. I got hold of an old ~150 watt JVC, similar to the one I had in the 80s. Thing still sounds hella sweet.

I have a few friends who are mid-level audiophiles. I'll ask around.

Actually, I'll pay the shipping to get it to me, and I'll make sure it finds a good home, pay-it-forward style, if that's cool with you.

(ps.... introduction made on FB messenger)

That's what I just discovered today. When I tried to find a home for it a bunch of years back, no one knew what it was...

I guess I will take some photos and video of it working and see what happens on eBay. That'll pay for some bike parts.
