Just a few housekeeping items:
1) Bed cloths are provided.
2) We do not have bath towels, so you will need to bring your own.
3) You are also on your own with toiletries.
4) There is no smoking in the cabin.
5) There is a country store 1 mile west in Hillsgrove, and a Wal-Mart 30 miles west in Montoursville if you need anything.

I will be looking for a final head count on Wednesday as Mrs. Smoker will be purchasing supplies on Thursday.

We lassoed Bill into making chili for us on Friday night (BillyChili?), and we will be bringing other snacks and goodies to munch on.

Looking forward to seeing some of you there.

Even if it isn't, has anyone ever regretted going to any of these events?

More like most of us regret missing one of them for sure.

So.... since Friday and Sunday both appear to be days that I'd rather not ride if I don't have to, my current plan is to drive up to my nearby cabin with the family and mosey over to smoker's to hang out on Saturday night. Maybe bring some brownies or pie.

It'll be a day ride (Sat.) visit for me, suppose to be the only dry day out of the next three.

Fri. & Sun. weather guessers are calling for rain all day.

I still haven't retrieved my ride from WV because I've been crazy under the gun at work. Looking like I can drive up Saturday for some hanging and some visiting. (sigh)

This is the first stop on a much larger trip for us so we're coming regardless.  Sure hope the yard isn't prone to getting slickery with mud.  :)  Guess we'll sort that out when we get there.  I have really good tires on the truck so as long as the trailer doesn't sink and the ground is nice and flat, I should be OK.

There's the option to park in the drive right in front of the cabin if the yard is too soft. We'll make that call when you get there.

Not sure what my day is going to look like tomorrow, our dog might not make it through the day today. We are headed to the vet shortly. I will be there at 3pm tomorrow at the latest, so if anyone shows up before we get there just make yourselves comfortable on the front porch or in the pavilion.

Thanks for the kind words guys. We did decide to put Lily down. It was harder than I thought. It was the right call, she was suffering.
Sorry to put a damper on the thread.

That said, we are a GO for this trip. We will be proceeding as planned.

One update to the housekeeping post:
Mrs. Smoker reminded me that we do not provide sheets or pillow cases. Pillows and blankets, that's it. You will need to either bring sheets or a sleeping bag.
We have 2 king, 6 queen, and 3 double, along with 3 single bunks. First come first serve.
I apologize for the mis-communication on that.

Weather looks like scattered thunderstorms on Friday, perfect riding weather Saturday, and rain on Sunday.

OK, leaving home before 9am, and have decided to ride down.  Will be running 44 from Shinglehouse to Tomb, then 973 to 87, unless someone suggests why I shouldn't.

I believe I will be staying mostly dry.  8)

I just finished revising my back roads / dirt roads route for Saturday (attached). It's 173 miles with a lunch/gas stop in Hughesville at about 90 miles. I've spent hours trying find and link up dirt roads. I have no idea how it will be in reality. My biggest fear is gated dirt roads on state game lands. I guess I will find out tomorrow...

Time to get some breakfast then start packing up the bike, car, trailer, etc. Ugh. Never trailered to an STx anything before. I plan arriving about 3:30 - 4pm. Chris probably more like 6pm - 6:30pm.

I had a few doe's nuts  ;D  stuck around for about a 1/2 hour, then decided to visit a buddy that has a cabin about 30min. away.
Figured I'd come back about suppertime and enjoy a few beverages.
NOT - wasn't going to happen, got a Flat!.
Picked up a nail somewhere between the two cabins.

Thank God for tubeless tires.  Fixed, I only had to stop twice for air, made it home.
I really can't complain, first flat in about three years.

Shane you did a great job on the lodging, awesome place!  :smiley_thumb:

Today's weather makes me feel like I need to go out and oil my chain even though my bike is parked in the garage.  It's that wet outside.  I missed riding with you folks yesterday.  Although I did get to drive N222, alternately claimed to be one of the best (on Avis ratio) and one of the 50 most dangerous roads in the world (by some nervous nanny).

And I did drink one for ya!  Hope to meet up with some of you later this year.

Yay signal....

Kim and I are en route to the UP.  Thanks again for a good time, good chow, good laughs, and tolerating or possibly enjoying Hemi's company.

Garry, thanks for doing the work to find those great roads for the DS ride and taking point the whole way.  Good day, eh...

Thanks to Smoker and Mrs. Smoker for hosting. In our world, a dog friendly flat piece of grass has a lot of value.

Until next time....
