I did too for a second.  Then I remembered they don't have crazes in Idaho.  And I'm not sure about new sex.

Dog is worthless

Lawn and pest expert says I have to fence off the area and get gopher poison balls or summat.

Pardon me, Sandy, but if I kill all of the golfers, they're gonna lock me up and throw away the key.

Edit: My neighbor had excellent luck with the Victor Black Box gopher trap. Less than $15 from Amazon.

Before long you can be frolicking together with your new overlords pets. Why can't we all just get along?   :blbl: :couch:

We've used the road flare technique. There was also the talented Maine coon cat from down the street. A patient cat is 10 times better than a dog for this type of prey.

. Our neighbor started feeding a wild cat and all the critter problems went away.
Then she had baby wild cats and we get coyotes around for a bit

From the comments in the posted road flare video...

Water hose, duct tape and a pickup truck. Tape water hose to tail pipe, turn on pickup, insert other end of hose into mole tunnel and let run for about fifteen minutes. Carbon monoxide is heavy and works it's way down into all the little crooks and crannys really gets them where they sleep.

One of my rentals is beset mit burrowing rodents.  For a while, there was a six toed cat in the neighborhood who was always waiting patiently by the gopher tailings when I came there to mow.

The tenant told me that there was a Great Blue Heron who visited once in a while, and was more effective than the cat.  So whatever you can do to encourage GBH might do the trick.
Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen and regulating the circulation.

my ex-father in law died of that. he was a big squirrel hunter and traded the tails to Bass Pro for store credit (there are worth more than you would think!). the first sign of anything wrong was he tripped on the stairs Christmas eve. he was dead by February... nasty disease.

OK so no brains at least. To be honest the idea of eating any kind of animal brains is a bit much. Same as pigs feet. Besides if gophers had any brains they wouldn't be getting themselves killed fucking up my lawn.

I like this plan.  Backhoe with a .22 rifle by the seat.  Dig him out and if he starts to run, shoot 'em.

Smoke bombs do work however (or exhaust pipe whatever way you want to deliver CO).

actually if you eat the brains you can live on stuff like rabbit. If you don't you eventually die of rabbit starvation unless you find another source of fat. No, I wouldn't eat squirrel brains or rabbit brains unless I was going to starve to death otherwise.
