I-95 from Charleston to Florida border
« on: September 30, 2018, 12:44:48 PM »
Unexpected trip south to Ft Lauderdale coming up the week of October 8th and checking freeway conditions after Flo.  Anyone in the area care to comment?  Also I-26 from Greenville south to Charleston?

That is probably the clearest section of the entire road.

Yeah, I found the SC road conditions website and was looking at it.  Eyes on and driven it recently folks always have the best info though.    Taking my Focus to the kid in Boca, will spend a few days goofing off down there.  A lady turned left in front of him, totaling his Grand Prix.  He was uninjured in that huge car.

:pope:   She's dead, Jim.  RIP the old Focus.  I went out yesterday to start it and give it a good check over in preparation for the drive south.  Passive Anti-theft System is activated and will not reset or let me start it.  I'm not paying a dealer to dick with it and tell me it's not repairable.  It also needs rear control arm bushings replaced, but no one here wants to touch it.  Can't blame them.  I wouldn't either.      Time to call the local scrap yard to come get it.  Sent word to the kid he needs to shop down there for a replacement.

As to the lady turning in front of the kid...

The month I spent working in the Boca Raton area last spring left me amazed that anybody ever survives the drivers down there.
