I learned how federal student loans work on the government level. And that a few people on this planet can out-fart me. Don't share a car with those people.

You are so rite.

Back in the 80's i had a chance to drive a Subaru wagon and i couldn't get it stuck in the snow. I rammed this thing into snow drifts pulled the floor shifter and it didn't even spin a wheel.

What slip-up did you have in Chicago?

Somehow I missed the 94W continuation around the curve & ended up going straight for 5 miles or so before I realized that I wasn't on 94W anymore. So I got off at 912 I think to pick up 90 but it ended up being closed & who the hell knows where I was but the roads were all mucked up, no cars, no visible signs, nothing but rail yards, smoke stacks & factories but I somehow managed to find my way back to a civilized road & then crossed a big iron bridge & before you know it I was on the toll road. Getting lost unbelievably shaved 15 minutes off of my trip!

The construction zone was moving along pretty good. We didn't hit any backups anywhere. It slowed down for about 30 seconds on our way back when we went through downtown.

Only saw 1 police car all day but he was already w/ someone!

To remove the lower wishbone assembly on a Jaguar XJ-S, the first step involves the removal of the entire front suspension unit.

Oh, and that the engine rests on that, and will need supplemental support.

Shortcuts don't likely work any better on those than on a UniMoG!  For example, the procedure for replacing the transmission on our 404 goes as follows:
1) disassemble entire truck
2) replace transmission
3) proceed visa versa (Mercedes manuals :o when they say "proceed visa versa, except note" you KNOW you're in trouble :P)

We didn't follow step one as fully as we should have in 2002 when we blew our transmission in Oregon (we left the bed of the truck on, as we were living in our camper at the time, the swap would have been easier with that removed too...):
http://www.volkswagenhaven.net/nwmf2002.html
Hence the "shortcuts" remark above.
