Vfrmike..

Have you seen the beach replenishment operations going on down there at Myrtle?  My company is doing third party survey services for the dredging contractor...all I can say to you is...GTFO!!!  Seriously dude.

^^^^
This Mike!
Yea familiar with the replenishment, had a house on the beach.  I'm pretty sure I'm gonna bug out--maybe a good time for Disney World :)

Gentlemen,

Was noodling around and saw it appears the Oldtown Low water toll bridge is closed already... Just saying.. :)

Ken, If I can get off work, I'll probably be packing my hammock setup and will be staying in another loop to sleep.

Hopefully see you all next weekend.

yeah but if 10 guys pee in the water at the same time, it rises above that bridge.  not a good indicator.

All the bridges around here are low water bridges these days.

What exactly is a low water bridge? It's only usable when the water is low? Isn't the purpose of a bridge to get over the water.

Well.. this is an improvement of what it used to be... boards lashed to 55 gallon drums..

It was damaged with all the high water this summer. Looks to be gone since May of this year. It was just a nice way to "sneak" into WV from PA thru a small piece of MD.

I saw a video on Facebook a few days back which the bridge was a major rapid (full under water) with a kayaker going over the bridge.  I can't find that now, all I can find is this...

I hope that piece of sh!t  bridge (a sad excuse at that) gets washed out to sea!

Ya, last time I had the pleasure of riding across it I got a flat. Freaking nails standing proud all over the place.

And Ya, a brand new PR4 installed just a day before!  >:(

Anybody have any cool specialized skills that could result in a demo / seminar one night?  Like maybe knife sharpening with a stone or advanced knot tying or something similar that doesn't require  a ton of space or stuff?

Any solid guitarists/performers coming that would justify dragging my GS Mini down the road?

Ok...giant pot of home-made pasta sauce on the stove. Home made bread in the works.  Dinner at camp site de Vulcanbill is coming together. Who is interested?  Respond with a preferred night between Friday night or Saturday night.

Sauce has red wine, chicken stock, maters and green peppers from the garden, carrots and mushrooms and onions from the store and misc spices.  All organic. Pasta will be Barilla organic penne.  Bread will be simply amazing and also organic.

Cutlery and china will be of the finest paper and plastics that money can buy from the dollar store.

I say again, who is in?

Sounds yummy! I could go for just a bowl of sauce and bread to dip in it.     Do you know what kind of red wine you used, Cabernet, Merlot?

As far as special skills or demo, Friday evening I will be swapping dirt wheels to SM if any one wants to play Moto GP crew and help or just stand around and supervise with a beverage. Regarding the guitar playing..... You don't want to hear me.

Bill, I'm in either evening, and I'm bringing a selection of good beer, and maybe some local dessert wines. Let me know what I can bring. Dinner night, I'll probably just drive over from Sugar Grove. Or bring stuff over ahead of time. Let's chat outside of this thread about timing on that.

Well, it looks like I’ll be able to have a few days off... so I’ll be coming down.. I’ll be looking for a site I can hang my hammock, but I’ll be happy to hang out with the F Troop at night.  Bill, your dinner 🥘 sounds delicious, I’d be grateful either evening!  Tankhead, I’ll find room for the cannon somewhere. :)

For the dinner we will be contributing some organic brined pickles, organic homemade pesto to put on the bread and a scratch made coleslaw. Either night works for us.

Now I just have to find out where the actual camp ground is. :)

PS... Liz is out, she's got kids that week and has to sing the whole weekend.

My brother is talking about bailing, but nothing concrete yet.

Gary, you can eat what you want how you want.

Chris, we don't drink so while your offer is probably kind, it has no value to us. ;). If you would like to bring something dessert like, bring dessert.  Preferably in the form of chocolate...or fudge...or brownies... Or cheesecake...  And don't forget the salty snacks that MUST accompany the chocolate. Am I making myself clear?

If everyone had been on good behavior at my first meet, I wouldn't have had any fun! Shenanigans and hijinx are what make STO so great!!!  :inlove:

Ya coming to this one?  Kim wants to know what kind of cookies there will be?

Took the KLX out for a 40 mile dirt shakedown ride to make sure everything is up to snuff. I haven't been on the dirt wheels since last summer. I forgot how much fun these are. Getting excited about this trip. Had a  chance to practice water crossings today.

With the storm and all, I’m not expecting to be able to make it.  Have a fun time.

Yeah, last I saw, 40-50% in the evenings, but the days seemed cloudy and warm.

Andrew (?). If you don't make it, we will put your site to very good use.

Dibs on Bill's share of the booze.

BWAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D  That was funny

Looks like I'll head down on Wednesday.  I am optimistic this time of year no reservation will be required for a tent site.

If anyone else is going early, post up.

The group site is also reserved for Thursday night :).  I'll be there, along with Dave and Peter.

I'm gonna try and leave Wednesday if I can find a route out of here.  I'll probably stop somewhere on the way and not be at the site till Thursday unless I get a real early start and plow on through.

In the fence between Thursday and Friday.  If I head down Thursday it will be after work so I'd get in around dark.
