Been such a busy week, I almost forgot there was another race this weekend. Avoid those DNF's!

I'm counting on some!

Only one change in the standings this week and it's at the top. The race for the EOE Cup is tighter than ever. Update after Austria:

All three races were enjoyable again, especially the last 3 to 4 laps.  What's going on with Ducati lately?  They seem to be getting things right with Yamaha getting it so wrong.

122. But that didn't even get me in the top 300 worldwide for the weekend. I think that's about the same number of points I got in the last race last year that put me tied for second worldwide for the race. Apparently everyone knew Marquez and the Ducatis were going to be duking it out in Austria.

Update after Misano: Biking Sailor retakes the lead. Everybody, please check your points and tell me if the table below is wrong because there was some weirdness in the points standings this week.*

*Postscript: After looking at the numbers, I think the game gave everybody one point for Silverstone. That's the only way I can figure that the numbers add up. Maybe their system wouldn't accept a zero, so everyone got a point.

After getting passed in the last corner, the rookie fights back and reclaims the lead. But can he hold off the cagey veterans lining him up on every corner?  It looks like it's anyone's race in the four bike lead pack.   8)

Blunder DNF?

As your volunteer "You Get What You Pay For*" director of timing and scoring, I've set an informal policy that after several DNFs, I assume the person has lost interest and I drop him from the standings chart. This is mostly due to laziness on my part, because the farther someone falls behind, the harder it gets to sort through the thousands of participants on MotoGP.com to confirm that yeah, he just didn't play again this week. I'm willing to reconsider that if anyone wants to present another point of view. Also, I always encourage everyone to check and make sure I have your points right.

*The exception to the "You Get What You Pay For" rule is the trophy you get if you win. That's way more than what we're paying for.

Good weekend. I think you were the only person in the EOE Cup league this week to top 100 points.

I added up my points from each race, and I think you're right. Add one point for Silverstone and my score works out.

Grumpy about this one because my original picks were Dovi, Marquez, Crutchlow, Lorenzo. I moved Lorenzo to 1st after qualifying and the other three down one place. Dang.

No major changes this week except Punk ass kid passing HM Faceplant to take a podium position in the top-four breakaway. The gap from first to fourth got even tighter, dropping from 43 points to 35 points, so the race for the EOE Cup is far from settled.

Missing a week is just about the kiss of death in this game. You can look at the standings and just about instantly determine who has shown up every week.

In some of the old games we used to use, you could drop a couple of your lowest scores, but those games had other issues. I never liked the ones that limited you to picking a certain rider only four or five times a year, so you had to either ration yourself on your Marquez and Lorenzo choices or else by the end of the season you were going into the final races with a "dream team" of Bradley Smith, Karel Abraham and some wild card rider.  :D

I've always thought he was whiney.
I agree that Marquez went in too hot, but that's not a particularly strange thing. I vote racing incident.
And even if Lorenzo is right, he's still whiney.

Let's see here...  What was it Lorenzo said about how Rossi treated him and was favored at Yamaha? Then what happen with Dovi not sharing bike setup knowledge? Does anyone think it will be different at HRC with Marquez? Not me.

No real change in the EOE Cup standings, except for a DNS back in the field. Tight, two-way battles for first, third and fifth continue.

Four to go and I still haven't had a really good week and no really bad ones either. Just meh.

Was close this time. I had Dovi, Marquez, Rossi, Crutchlow, Vinales as the top five (I think). That's pretty good on the who, just not the where finished.

A DNS is just the kiss of death in this game.

Of course I want to win fair and square. But that damn Biking Sailor is proving to be a really difficult pest, especially for an EOE Cup rookie. It just doesn't look good for the rest of us to have someone waltz in here without the years of experience that people like me and Squeezer and Motodog have and suddenly be in the lead week after week. I always did have my doubts about those boating types.  :P

Well, I got 93 points from Japan, in 766 place. Crashes from the upper guys really make it hard to get a big number, then you don't know how the rest of the guys have done.

The MotoGP world championship may be decided but the EOE Cup is still up for grabs. Update after Japan:

Three to go. I'm feeling the pressure!   ;D

A DNS is just the kiss of death in this game.

ARRRGGG !!! Tell me about it... Pretty sure Austin would have produced one of my better round scores of the year (if I would have remembered to make my picks prior to sitting there in the stands on the warm-up lap :o ).

So instead of being in a three-way fight for the championship, I'm in a three-way fight for fifth...

Did I mention I had a great time that weekend  :beerchug: ??

Biking Sailor added a few points to his lead at the front and Motodog made a big move back in the pack, jumping up two spots. Update after Phillip Island:

If you're not on the table, it's because I think you've stopped participating. If you are still in the game and aren't here, let me know and I'll add you to the standings.

Two laps to go. Gotta stay focused and trust my tire choices.

I think most did. Low 90's in points got you in the 300's ranking worldwide.

I didn't see a score from you for Thailand last week, Max. But double check your point total to make sure I didn't screw up. There are a lot of variations on "Max" in the game and it's possible I got the wrong score.

Things are really tight for the podium positions as we head into the final round. At Sepang, Team Coqui pulled back five points on Biking Sailor to have a shot to steal the EOE Cup at Valencia. (What I really need to do is repeat my performance from Valencia last year, when I tied for second worldwide that weekend, just one point out of first. But I recognize that may have been a once-in-a-lifetime experience of the blind squirrel category.) Meanwhile, Team HM Faceplant passed some Punk Ass Kid to move into the final spot on the podium.
