Maybe it has been posted, but I just found it doing some "end of the year story" browsing.

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A young leukemia patient realized his dream to become Batman for a day as an army of volunteers transformed part of San Francisco into ‘Gotham City’ Friday.
5-year-old Miles Scott from Siskiyou County traversed the city Friday, maneuvering through huge throngs of admirers as a superhero named “Batkid,” fighting crime with the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Volunteers, businesses, the San Francisco Giants and even the city’s mayor and police department all pitched in to make the adventure as realistic as possible.

See more at the link.  Way cool.  The kid captures the riddler, the joker, and the penguin, saves a damsel in distress along with Batman and TONS of help by the city and volunteers.

Yeah, that was a pretty good one.  Could have used more burnouts though.  And that would have been a very good application for a motorcycle.  Hopefully batkid will now conjure something other than the image that was on that horrible grocery store rag for a while.

It was a really awesome day here in the Bay Area.  All the local media switched to "Gotham" press for the day and people really got into it. A bunch of my friends work in SF and went to go see Batkid along his route.
